Can someone explain ... ??

Can someone explain exacting what were the details of the Sky Television Deal and why they were allowed broadcast in Ireland which directly effects the domestic National League as a result ??

Weren't all the clubs meant to get money from them every year to compensate ??

When will this come up for review again, surely there is a time frame on this deal, if not ... it can then be overturned i'd imagine ??

Is it up to the Minister for Communication to sort out ??

Anyone know the full deal here ??

i asked this before but no one seemed to fully know, it was all just hearsay

I suspect that it all has lapsed, probably around the time that the Sky / TV3 international deal was made and there was a whole to-do about the money coming into the FAI. In the fall-out of it all, I'd imagine that there was too much scrambling after the big bucks to the FAI and the bandits behind the wheel forgot that there was a deal meant to be on the table regarding the eL. Now the question is, if this was the case, was the forgetting a result of blindness, or Sky Sponsored Blindness.

This is all just speculation, if not outright slander (is it libel if it's over the internet?). No facts seem to have been allowed into the public domain on the matter - once the floodlights were bought, we seemed happy enough, and now we're playing in the summer so I am sure someone was told it doesn't matter any more.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

I think that a few people carried the can on this on the supporters behalf, it would be about time for people to review how much commitment they can give and make it possible for themselves to get involved.

Is it going to be regional thing ??
How is it going ot be teased out and set up ??

I was talking more about annual compensation fee paid to the league for being allowed to broadcast their games in this country. It is clearly having a negative impact on the domestic game and we should be compensated for this on an annual basis or they shouldn't be allowed broadcast the games altogether.

There is no way that that is a non-issue !!

Agreed. There should be clarity on this, and clubs/league should be compensated.

There was compensation payed initially when SKY started off, but I think it was a once off deal wasn't it ? I never remember reading anything about annual payments.

But surely there is no way on earth they can expect (or at least justify) a one off payment while some national league clubs are in crisis because of poor attendances. A one off payment basically doesn't cut it considering the damage that it is doing to the national league at the minute.

It doesn't really matter what went before ..... it is now that counts.

The league DESERVE at the very least compensation from Sky and that is something which should be sought after as soon as possible.
