    Spanish football query

    Greetings people,
I need some help here. A friend is going to Lanzorote in a week or so. I suggested that I thought they had a football team in the third tier of Spanish league football. This interested him greatly (especially as this holiday, his honeymoon, will cause him to miss his first Limerick home game since 1989). So I was volunteered to check out the web and see if Lanzorote had a home game between the 1-8 of April.

So far the internet has let me down badly on this score so I was hoping that one of you fine people could either provide some direction in my search or else find the answer for me! I'm looking at you Éanna since you're Mr.Spanish Football around here!
The ball is round and has many surprises.

As far as I know, the only team on the islands is Tenerife.
Used to be in Primera Liga but are probably now in the second tier.
    I could be wrong though.

There is a local side based in Lanzarote CF U. D. Lanzarote who play in third category of Spanish League. They play away I the week your friend is there.

Tenerife are in the Secundo and I had the misfortune to twice watch them play last season. Nice stadium but very poor crowds and equally poor football. Still, it was live football when I was stuck on the Island for a month.

Thanks for that (even if you are the bearer of bad news!)

Yes, it was a hard time being stuck in Santa Cruz, (its the commercial captial of the island and not a holiday resort) - my wife had a brain haemorrhage while we were on a family holiday last Easter on Lanzarote and she was in intensive care for three weeks along with a few days on life support.

I'd say if you go to the ground on the day you would get them handy enough except when they are playing either Barca or Real

Oh yeah, just hijack my thread like that!

I think you'd probably get them on the day handily enough except for the big games like the guy before me said. A friend of mine went to see Barcelona recently and got his ticket the day of the game.

It depends on what you define as recovered.

She is alive, in good spirits despite the diabilities. She is hemipelgic on the right side (Paralysed) and cannot speak (Some would say it must be great to live with a woman who cannot talk) but she can still communicate and nag.

Still, it's great to still have her with us and long may it continue
