2005 Attendances

Town/Dundalk was 450 to 500. Not official but you can take it as good as.

Fair enough. Always like to take the lowest given attendance, but I suppose I can't argue with someone involved with the club!

1,500 per the Sligo website. that's a great crowd, even though I think the website errs on the high side; it's still a good bit higher than anything last season!

300 being mentioned as a more realistic crowd for Cobh-Limerick.

The main stand which holds 2,000 was nearly full and there was also good crowd on the other side of the ground too I'd say it’s right

the main stand in Tolka is far smaller than the Jodi, which holds 2742. From memory when Bohs played Aberdeen and Kaiserslautern in Tolka, the main stand in Tolka holds 1700.

There was 4000 at Bohs v Rovers.

By asking fans how many were at their games is one sure way of getting inflated figures.

Eg. one site said there was 700/800 at the Shels/UCD game, yet a supporter on the Shels site said there was 4000 at the game.

Yeah sounds about right - best crowd for ages - mind you 1st div attendences are always poor - pats had a good support at the game, left early aswell

We ask that fans try to estimate on the conservative side so as we can try to be as realistic as possible. It would be petty to over inflate attendences to make your club look good.

Must put up a sticky thread with the answer to this question - don't know how many times it's been pointed out!

Last year, according to figures announecd by the league, we were within 10% in the Premier and 20% in the First (the latter would have been much closer if we'd had attendances for all games, as many of the smaller games were missing). I try and keep the guesstimates as conservative as possible to counter the inflation effect, and I think the above is proof that this is working. I also saw a post that the 700/800 crowd was completely made up by a Bohs fan and should be disregarded completely. As, indeed, should the 4000. The rational calculation of the crowd earlier in this thread was accurate to within 5%, which, barring getting official attendances, I think is quite good.

Tihs isn't meant to be perfect - just an idea.

2000-2500 at Ballybofey. Only guessing really as no idea what different areas of ground hold. Needs Harps fan confirm.

would be a fair approximation. Star figure of 90 is inaccurately low - have often seen smaller crowds at this venue.

Its a shame that supporters of some clubs (Cobh, Sligo) use these threads to inaccurately boost their home attendances. Sadly makes the exercise redundant. In these cases, away supporters could give a far more accurate estimate.

I'd say about 1600 at the Town End, 700 in the stand, 200 on the gantry side and 200 Cark men.

That gives 2,700, so that 2,500 aint far away!

The Star this morning says 4,000
