It doesnt work on my computer but Im quite confident that they'll mangle it just like Coupeling. I was never really into The Office anyway.

I was a huge fan of the original Office, and, to be fair, from the advert they could have done alot worse. Their version of the 'wassuup' joke is dreadful though. Their 'Gareth' will not fit the part if they keep the same persona for him as they did for McKenzie Crook. Not terrible though...

That's pathetic in comparison. I'm a huge fan of the Office but that American effort is terrible. They haven't even changed the script.

American TV has had a bad history of doing remakes of British sitcoms e.g. Major Payne was Fawlty Towers, Coupling etc. But humor is different and the way sitcoms are done is different e.g. a US sitcom season is 26 episode while there is usually just 6 episodes in a Brit sitcom. Fawlty Towers which is considered the the best only ever did 12 episodes as has the Office (excluding the final special). BTW Coupling was a take off of Friends.

From what I've heard here, only that pilot episode of the Office is going to be a copy and the rest original. The main actor Steve Carell used to be great on The Daily Show.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

Just got it to work now, it looks painfully cr@p! I think that the main guy is just trying to copy Gervais as opposed to act his character. Everything looks forced and rehearsed as opposed to the spontaniousity (is that a real word?) or the origonal
