Club Licensing Manuel launched
The FAI launched its 2005 Club Licensing Manuel on Friday morning with continued improvement being the main aim this year.
Launched last year, the scheme’s aim is to improve eircom League football – both on and off the field – with clubs assessed under five criteria – sporting, infrastructure, personnel and administrative, legal and financial.

From the same place:
"However, this season, there will be three separate Licences for European competition, the Premier Division and First Division which the FAI hope will help to sustain the improvements made last season."
I havn't read the document yet, so I could be wrong but this sounds to me like the premier licence is going to be easier to get. There is mention elsewhere in the article of clubs having to have infrastructure plans. This is very different from having infrastructure.
As far as I know, if you have vague plans in place to meet all the A Licence requirements, you'll get an A Licence for the league games. We've planning permission for a 1200 seater stand with hospitality area, changing rooms and whatever else the FAI are into, so we'll be allowed use that in the league. However, to host a European games, I think you actually have to have those plans executed. I may be wrong, but I think that's the difference.Originally Posted by Bald Student

Good spot though - the FAI muppets actually misspelt that on their website... Maybe they're from Barcelona... Maybe someone'll slap them repeatedly and poke them in the eye...
As Santa would say Hoo, Hoo, Hoo!
Nobody paid it a blind bit of notice last year, sorry - loads of Teams did...they just did it erm, a bit different than asked. So watch Galway United waste money they could have spent on competing for promotion on more pointless F.A.I directives.....
Ah, it's all good craic sure.
I'd rather die laughing than trying!
Has anyone seen a copy of the manual? The newspaper article contained no actual details of its contents. I couldn't find it on the FAI internet site.
I have it at home somewhere i think !! (it has changed from its first release has it ??)Originally Posted by Bald Student

It has, according to the link in the first post. I can't find out what those changes are though.Originally Posted by A face
Given the time of year, and if they put this up on their website, could it be called "e-manuel" ???Originally Posted by thejollyrodger
sorry
they've changed it - if only we could change other stuff wrong with the fai by slagging them on the internetOriginally Posted by thejollyrodger
The manual is up on the FAI site. I had a quick look at it and it seems that the criteria have been watered down a lot since last year. I looked at the condition that UCD wouldn't have met last year (1,500 covered seats) and it's changed from an 'A' criterion (must be fulfilled) to a 'C' criterion
('If the criterion is not fulfilled, the Licensor may sanction the club with:
(a) an obligation on the club to fulfil criterion within a reasonable timeframe; and/or
(b) a caution; and/or
(c) a fine; and/or
(d) exclusion from FAI National League Premier Division')
So it looks like premier licenses for all this year.
What has a soft porn movie got to do with the FAI?Originally Posted by crc
