    Keith Fahey

Retired today. Still probably the best player I've seen play in this league. He was sensational in his second spell with Pats. Will always be fondly remembered by me, a shame that not all Pats fans feel the same
    Here on a technicality.

I personally feel he never fully lived up to his potential and that's saying something considering he played in England, won the league cup and 16 appearances for Ireland

No complaints about him from this Pats fan. Absolute quality, and showed his true colours in my view by regularly showing up to support the team once he'd moved to Birmingham. I have a feeling Liam Buckley wasn't overly keen to keep him this year, so he can't be blamed for taking the deal with Rovers. (Plus he took them for a few grand, with little tangible result )
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

I think his goal against us in our 'All Conquering' League winning season in 2008, was one of the best goals I've seen at Dalymount. I think even the Bohs fans applauded that one.Nearly sure it won goal of the season.

Why has he retired so suddenly? was his injury that bad or something?

Maybe it's a Neale F*** type retirement and now he's going to sign for Pats for their title charge

He's had that hip problem for a while now.
Sometimes players have no choice but to retire.

He had surgery a few weeks ago, it mustn't have went well. I'd love a Neil Fenn type turn around as seand mentioned above.

I've lost track of whether Pats fans think he's amazing or terrible at this stage.

It's a pity he's had to cut his career short and that the last three years of his career have effectively been ruined. I'd have liked to see him do more on the pitch with Rovers because he showed flashes of brilliance, but by all accounts he was great with the younger players like Miele and Kavanagh, so that's something. Wish him the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do.

I can't speak for Pats fans but personally he is my favourite player to ever play for us. The Rovers move didn't bother me.
