Wexford progressed to the knock-out stages of the Oscar Traynor with a comfortable win over the Defence Forces in Ferrycarrig this afternoon. First goal came on twenty minutes when Adam Beary converted a free header following a good cross from the left. Collie O'Brien made it 2-0 on 35 minutes when a chip to the far post hit the inside of the post and in to give the Defence Forces keeper no chance. It was 3-0 just before the break when some neat inter-play between Beary and Kyle Dempsey allowed the latter to slide the ball into the net.

Other than a couple of decent shots from distance which Lee Walker found hard to hold in the Wexford goal, the Defence Forces created little and it was a comfortable stroll for Wexford in the second half. 3-0 at full-time. Best for Wexford were Kyle Dempsey, Collie O'Brien and Ian Sinnott while Lee Wadding gave a nice strolling performance in the middle of the pitch. I think the Forces were missing all their LOI players. Maybe, 200 at the match.
