    2014 Season

    Positives
    1. A decent squad put together (eventually).
    2. Have a manager who seems to have a better grasp of what he's doing than Taylor.
    3. Ryan, Oji, Lynch, Gaffney.
    4. Forward momentum on MF.
    5. Good finish to the season.

    Negatives
    1. Taylor retained for too long.
    2. Lack of consistency in large spells, especially at home (7 wins, 8 losses, 1 draw).
    3. General goal haul quite poor.
    4. Very bad attendances as season wore on.
    5. Cup performances.
    6. Probably losing Gaffney and several others.
    7. No improvement generally on last year (down one position, one less point, same GD).

Two very similar seasons in the Premier Division - Limerick have rapidly become the atypical mid-table side, capable of getting a good result here and there against the top teams but all too near to the mire below them for large parts of the season. If the current squad could be retained I think the team would do better next year, but everything I've read or heard indicates that won't be the case, and there may by a struggle to get in decent replacements. Is this just what has to be endured while the MF and training ground plans are realised? Seems like there is such a negative vibe around the club in so many ways, probably due to the crowds and lack of purpose in last two months of season.

6th a very good finishing place and would have taken that at the start.

    Very disappointing cup performances.

Too late when we did get it together so not much to entice the general public out. Only the regulars continually at games.

Will find it tough to sign good players next year, we will be competing with Cork and possibly galway for the same bunch of players Id imagine with cork having first pick on most.

Martin Russell needs to do a bit of a Stephen Kenny on it and get good players on average wages and have them playing well as a unit.

A few good early results needed in the markets field or in my opinion senior football in this city will continue to be only a 600-700 average kind of a club.

A bit of buzz will need to be created and some better advertising of games. Even just for the first few games. Social media not enough. One or two decent signings also needed to get the interest of the fans. Not journey men or players from the UK that no one has heard of.

What could be a big negative is if talk is to be believed we could start next season without any of the names mentioned in NeverFeltBetter number 3 positive.

19 years in the 1st followed by a 7th and a 6th in the premier, I'd be happy with that in fairness and we would all have taken it that night we went up in Longford in 2012. The painful piece as a fan of course is that you can see how close the next level is.....has to be hard to run a club knowing that and having to balance sustainabiliy at the same time. Truth is we are most probably the wrong side of that line already.
Can see an improvement though if we can keep most of the current team. My biggest worry for 2015 is on the MF. I haven't seen anything to suggest it would be even license ready (which would still not be good enough). Is there any comment from the LEDP or other interested parties?
