    Doolin slates Fabio

In this weeks DI Doolin states how he believes we would have won the game if O'Brien hadn't have ben sent off and puts the result firmly on the shoulders of O'Brien in typical no messing language.

Funny that - we were 2-1 up when he got sent off but they were also down to 10 men, so effectivily Doolin is saying that we can't beat or draw with Cork unless we are a goal up and have an extra man.

Dave you were at the game - do you blame Fabio?

It definitely made a big difference as Drogs rarely threatened after. He would have kept our defence busy, but saying he was solely responsible for defeat is ott.

City played like men possessed and would not have been beaten, I think.

    Typical Doolin talk though
What the hell is his problem. He obviously enjoys fighting with the players, and our best ones at that!

Well in fairness I'd say we would've got a draw if he had've stayed on. However with Tony O ' Dowd in goals we probably would've been lucky to muster it.

2nd city goal was offside but o'dowd could've done better.

3rd goal was a brutal shot by kearney and still went in.

I also thought the defence were very nervy again and that is probably down to o'dowd in goals behind them.

At half time i went for a pint and 2 city supporters i was talking to just turned around and said 'what the story with your keeper' - he just looks dodgy everytime the ball comes near him

Fabio was stupid getting sent off (and you could see from his body language and face expressions afterwards he regretted it straight away) - totally out of character and it was a sending off even if o callaghan made the most of it.

But how can a ref send someone off when he has his back to the incident and the lineswoman didnt see it?? Drogheda should get the video footage and appeal it - i dont mind a ref making a mistake, fair enough we all do that, but to make a decision without any official seeing the incident, thats juts cheating. I blame the ref!!

Btw i think nearly all my posts over the last couple of weeks have mentioned o' dowd. No offence, like he gives it his all, but he's just not good enough especially when we've a far better keeper on the bench!!

    Second goal was NOT offside.
Third goal was well placed, even though O'Dowd might have got to it.
Ref was sideways on to the O'Brien incident. After it, O'Brien clearly indicates an elbowing motion to the ref. What else did he expect except a red card?

You have a great chance to get revenge quickly on Friday. You must be favourites for 3 points there.

with O'onnor and Fabio both suspended I don't think we could be classed as favourites for this game - I think we have lost the last 5 home games.

    'Second goal was NOT offside.'

    Yes it was

    'Third goal was well placed'

Weak shot though and o dowd should have got to it.

'Ref was sideways on to the O'Brien incident.'

He didnt see it and from where i was it looked like it happened behind him, and im told tv pictures back that up too. I therefor expect him not to send anyone off

'You must be favourites for 3 points there.'

I think we'll win friday, we always do well at home against you lot

Look again. He is level with the incident, it happened to the side of him, he had no doubts about it, and O'Briens elbowing gestures confirmed what he did.

cant really see the second goal properly but looks offside from the camera angle. and the ref cought the end of o brien elbowing george you can see it if you slow the video down
soccer isn't a matter of life or death its more important than that!!!

OK, you'll stand by that, but if you are honest, I think you'll find your number 2 was playing him onside.

Doolin is losing the plot! Yea, ok Fabio was wrong to do what he did but hell is he intent on running all the quality players out of the club when the season ends. With Fabio's fantastic scoring recond this season other clubs would snap him up in a moment and Doolin is giving them more ammunition. They will see the conflict and pounce.
Doolo's great but really neads to take a chill pill! Thank god the season is coming to an end before he railroads any of the rest of them.

Individual players should never be criticised in public, that’s what the dressing room and the training pitch are for. A manager who does this could be accused of deflecting attention away from his own deficiencies.
