    Best Player(s) in First Division...

Just interested to gauge opinion on this. Are there any players you think should be in the prem?

    Names that spring to mind:

    - D. O'Sullivan (Longford)
    - S. Rice (Longford)
    - D. Connolly (Shelbourne)
    - S. Walsh (Galway)
    - P. McCann (Finn Harps)
    - P. Barrett (Waterford)

Danny furlong.. Was very excited when we signed him and scored against bohs our first home game I think but after that he didn't do much.. good enough for the premier I'd say a mid table club

Yeah Furlong is decent. Blows a bit hot and cold mind you, he didn't score for about three months until the last couple of games. Pat Sullivan and Pat Flynn are Premier players. A fair few of our team would get in Premier Division sides actually. Jamie Mulhall will go to England soon I reckon from what I've seen of him.

Pat McCann isn't even the best player in Harps team. He started the season like a house on fire and has fallen away altogether, not much of a technical footballer really.

Sean McCarron has the ability to play Premier Division football, as has Damien McNulty and I believe personally that Ciaran Coll is the best left back in the division, on his day a country mile ahead of any other left back.

Mark Salmon - look at how Longford fell off after his injury last year & only got going this season after his return, co-incidence?

Yeah also right up there with the very best in the division. He's been excellent since coming back from a really bad injury.

    Kevin O'Connor at Waterford.

For Galway Colm Horgan at RB and Ryan Connolly at CM have been our best players. Ryan Manning is supremely talented too.

Jordan Keegan at Shels another v talented player.

Yeah Ryan Connolly was good for us last year too. Forgot about Manning, great prospect.

    What's his squad number? 9? 10?
There was a fella playing for Cobh in Tolka a few weeks back - number 9, I think - top class footballer. (Relative to the thread topic, of course)

From a serious point of view, Rob Waters and Martin Deady are the only Ramblers players I could see playing at a higher level. Few of the young lads like Ryan Goldsmith and Brendán Frahill definitely have the potential though
