    A two-month pre-season is farcical, but I suppose it's what happens when you're limited to 40-week contracts.

Twas longer for Harps last year. Started back strength and conditioning before Christmas last season.

Most players seem to be in the gym all the time now at this stage so bar matches being played a lot would be training all the time anyway.

most clubs give players dietary and/or training advice for the off season. To be fair most players don't go mad either ( one year contracts focus the mind )

Sligo Rovers playing Ballinamallard United on 10th February at 7.30pm in Ferney Park. A testimonial match for one of their players, Leon Carters.

Ballinamallard are the closest club that Sligo Rovers can play competitively (not inc. Junior teams) . Its a bit closer than Harps but it takes as long cause the road is sh"te. In their off season Ive see Ballinamallard fans in the Showgrounds on a few occasions. Bit of a connection with them of late seeing as they have had half a team of ex-Rovers playing for them.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Danny Keohane, Steve Feeney, Alvin Rouse and Liam Martin are ex-Sligo players with Ballinamallard. Not sure if there's any others.
