Thought you'd be interested to know DC's just been released from Stevenage by mutual consent. See here:

Don was very well liked at Stevenage and it's a big shame that his time with us was blighted by injuries and as a result he rarely had a chance to get into the team. He was more recently on loan at Conference National strugglers Braintree Town but I think even his time there was cut short by injury.
Who knows maybe he'll come back to you guys! Is there a couple of months before your season starts in which he could get himsef fit? Mind you I don't know how serious his current injury is.
The highlight of Don's time with us was scoring 4 goals in a rare appearance against our Hertfordshire rivals Barnet in a County Cup match.
Good luck for next season!

He could pick up a higher club than us if he was fit but if he wants to come back we'd certainly welcome him!

Big fan of his. Can't say I wasn't a little relieved that he left before last season - we could've been in a spot of bother come the end of the season another player of his calibre in yere squad. Hope he's back to ye this season, though!
If we get Cowan back we win the league - simples eh

even an injured cowan would be unreal.. tc should offer him everything to get him back, he would really make up for tomos absence

Depends what he gets offered elsewhere but probably not. He may pick up another club in England, depends how bad his injury is. All in all I wouldn't be getting too worked up about him ending up back with us.

would be surprised if he came back to Ireland, let alone us, only time will tell i suppose
If he does come back to Ireland, Longford have as good a chance as anyone of signing him. I don't think the bigger teams will be after him.
Agree with ped_ped. I was relieved when he left ye at the time because he ripped us apart on two occasions. Wouldn't mind seeing him with ourselves.

he can actually hold the ball up when we hoof it too!
Funny enough I cant see him getting another club in England so that gives us some hope however like I said other LOI clubs could offer more.

I see on wikipedia and other fan websites that Don was due to sign for Dundee pending international clearance. No mention of him of what I can see on Dundee's website. I think he was due to sign before they sacked their manager so they might of taken the contract off the table!

Don has signed for Southend United on a one month contract.

Is the league of Ireland transfer window not closed as of 31st july until the end of the season, doesn't matter who's available until then, we could always set the wheels in motion by asking if whoever is not at a club is interested for next season
Not sure when it closed, but it doesn't apply to unattached players afaik.
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
Think Irish Clubs can still sign free agents until the end of August. Either way I presume Town Legend's post was just updating us on where Don is playing.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.
Re-signed for Stevenage after his Southend deal expired: http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football...an_107639.html
