    Brilliant stuff!
Just to show how good this win is, for those of you who may not follow it, every European player put a point on the board for Europe. That's almost unheard of. Everyone did well. Some superb golf and I'm sure the game has some new fans after this weekend. The American fans were very well behaved but their team fell apart. This time 2 years we'll have it at the K Club. Bring it on!

Christ that was brilliant. what a performance. didn't it make you proud to be a european??

although now it's over, we can all go back to hating europe again. the moment of the weekend though was garcia's putt on saturday, when it was way, WAY right of the hole, then it got to the hill, starting arcing towards the hole, then bang. he went wild, threw his putter in the air, and went around high fiving anyone in sight. including his opponent, which was a nice touch. brilliant
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

That's what I love about him, he doesn't hide his emotions.
Great to see a player celebrate after making a great putt like that.
He played really well then yesterday to win his singles match.
Another nice touch was the way Clarke and Love III finished their match with the point halved and congratulated each other.

Observation: Sky love, and I mean love Monty. Personally I think hes an arrogant pr1ck, and quite rude and obnoxious into the bargain. So, when they were all going on about Monty getting the point that won the Ryder Cup, I said, "hold on". as I had thought Lee Westwoods victory had guaranteed us the retention of the trophy before Monty played the 18th...I know I'm cynical, but Sky really do p1ss me off at times..Super victory though, what a putt by Harrington on the 18th

Technically Poulter went 3 Up with 3 to play just before Monty made that putt. That guaranteed us 1/2 a point which effectively won the cup but Monty is a bigger story. Whatever you think of him as a person, and I agree with you by the way, you can't deny he's a master of the sport.

yeah, then they sat down togethr to watch the end of it and smoke a cigar.nice.

as regards sky, yeah, they're a bunch of idiots. westwood ensured that europe would retain the trophy, as monty was following him onto the 18th and he was guaranteed at least a half, putting europe onto 14 points, which was good enough to retain the trophy (if both sides finished on 14 points, europe would keep it as holders).

but monty won the hole giving europe at the time a score of 14 and a half, meaning the usa couldn't catch them. so while westwood securedthe trophy, monty won it, if ya follow

The only problem for Sky was that when Poulter birdied the 15th, they were still live with Monty's game. I don't think it occurred to them that it was won already. Even before Monty had to putt, the Sky commentator was hoping that Toms would sink his putt to allow Monty the glory.

BTW, when the three Irish players were posing with the tricolour did you hear Clarke asking for the 'orange' end, as a result of which the flag was the wrong way round!

What a putt by Garcia. I've never seen anything like that.

As for the Americans, they were doomed from the very start when Woods and Mickelson were paired together. They hate each other and it was downhill from there. No chance that Sutton will be captain again.

Should be fun in two years at the K Club.

Whiney Yanks should take a lesson in humility from Davis Love III. He was the only one who said the Europeans played better versus making sorry ass excuses as to why the Yanks failed. True gentleman that lad.

Fair play to clarke that why the orange was put on the flag in the first place to represent the orange men the white is peace and the green is for the native paddies, clarke also plays with shamrocks on his golf balls.

Yeah, Clarke is from Northern Ireland and never claims any differently.
