On the same note, did anyone read Roddy Collins column last Sunday? He has brought in a load of sponsors paying for players and for the team -wouldn't it be much better if all that money went into a more established club like St. Pats ????
Lads,
Can anybody add to the following:
The Sun ; Tuesdays ; Dermot Keely
The Star ; Fridays ; Pat Dolan
Star on Sunday ; Sundays ; Roddy Collins.
I know the Mirror have their own reporters, but in my book they don't count as much because they are not involved in the eL ( much better to get an insiders view or in the case of Keely someone who has been involved in the eL for a long time ). Having all that said The Mirror does have very good coverage.

That's the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard, thats like saying shouldn't all the sponsors in the country want to invest in Cork City, cause they get the biggest home gate. or should only invest in shels cause they're the team of the moment.Originally Posted by Shelsman

What I was saying is that clubs are strapped for cash as it is without sponsors wasting on a club like Dublin City!Originally Posted by Breifne
I think most eL fans would agree that four Dublin clubs in the Premier Division is enough ( Bohs, Shels, Pats, Rovers ). Of course there is no rule or law that states that this should be the case, and teams are entitled to whatever they earn on the pitch, but there are already too many clubs in Dublin and the surrounding counties. With this in mind, I would sooner see Dublin City and UCD in the First Division and the likes of Galway and Sligo in the Premier.
In an ideal world it might be worth having two giant Dublin clubs ala Man Utd and Man City with all the resources shared between them but I would rather that the tradition and history established by the four mentioned above would not be lost.

Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
