He was very popular with Waterford United fans and the media.Very charismatic guy who'll always be popular in Waterford for taking us out of division 1 and establishing us in the Premier.Thats why we were up in arms when he got sacked.We played better football under McGeough than we are at the moment anyway.He made some super signings for us.His critics would say that he was tactically a bit weak but you can't argue with his record with the Blues.

Top man! Great man manager. Calculated in decision making. Vocal in his opinions. Badly treated by Waterford United PLC. Turned the club from average 1st division to solid premier side. Something that Waterford United are doing their best to destroy but thats another matter. A local group of traders offered to pay his wages if he was kept on for another year ( c. €60k). It wasnt about money.
