Money ran out I pressume..
The Lisselton mystery has been solved - it appears they planned to transfer to the Munster Senior League, but not only had the deadline passed, but they never gave any notice to the KDL either. They now will have a B team in Division 2B, but their senior players plan to join Dynamos and Killarney Celtic, among other leading Kerry teams.
Liselton had told members of the KDL(kerry district league) they would not be entering the new league season after they failed to make last seasons premier final( missing out on by 2 points to st brendans park of tralee) . they felt they were being victimised by the KDL for deduting them 3 points for playing a suspended player in a league game and also they had a player suspended for 1 year after striking an offical at a match. All of their players bar 1 played with their own local teams for years but only went to Lisellton to make some money and may i say it was awful to see the amout of money being given in a junior soccer league. All these players have now either returned to those teams or have decided not to play any more. Lisselton never applied to the MSL and only spread that rumor around trying to intimedate the KDL . For such a club who claim to be so good they had no offical home grounds to play matches and use the Kdl grounds in tralee as a base only at the kindness of the KDL. I reckon everyone in keery soccer is happy that they are no longer involved in the league as what they were doing was compleatly wrong. Fairplay to the KDL for standing their ground, no one team makes a league.
Good riddance they destroyed many a team in kerry poaching players . Wonder how players will stay and play with the real Lisssleton in division 2b .
