The Islands there are a nice and relaxing place to go for a day and there's no cars there which is great.

If you want a nice day trip, Niagara Falls is really good too, only three hours or so by train, iirc.

I can't really remember anything else from there, I was only there for a few days. You could try catching a hockey game at the Air Canada Centre if you're there for the season's start.

Go to a Bluejays game and sit up in the nosebleed section! Enjoy lots of beer and hotdogs!

The CN tower is a must do, while hanging at the Eaton Centre is good too - just to see how the city moves. The first time I arrived in Toronto I was seriosuly impressed, though I must admit to getting worn out after a short time as the locals were a bit up themselves.

Ottawa can't be visited without seeing the houses of parliament. Also there are some great spots along the river to sit and chill.

The National Museum in Ottawa is a must. Its probably big enough to spend a whole thing day there but plenty can be seen in a few hours.

Worth going out of the way for then, aye?
I'm heading to Detroit in November, thinking of taking a week or so and driving to Montréal via Toronto and Ottawa. What's the weather like that time of year?
Have you ever won the treble?

I think it was either Saturday past or previous Saturday that the Go supplement in the Times did a two-pager on Toronto. It gave lots of off-the-wall places to see, bars, restaurants etc.

I was in Toronto in November 08 and it was cold and wet at that time of the year but not serious cold like December - February when the wind chill can be -40 etc. Bring rain gear if going to Niagra Falls - gets very wet and misty if there's any bit of a breeze about. And worth going to at night as well - they light the falls up which looks good if the weather is not too bad.

Been to Toronto a few times - everything I've done have been mentioned already, Eaton Centre, CN Tower, Air Canada Centre. If you are there in September - the Blue Jays will still be playing and Rogers Centre is pretty impressive given that its a 50,000 capacity indoor arena and tickets are easy to get - just walk up there half hour before a game. Its next to the CN Tower.
