Most people probably hung around at home to watch United. Rovers have lots of fair weather fans at the moment, to whom they'll always be second priority to the big English teams. Can't say I thought about going to the game myself, so I suppose I'm one of them too.

I would have guessed just over the 3,000 mark. There were lots of reasons why its dipped, but the main one has to be the football we're playing is bloody awful. We're creating absolutely no chances and not even passing. We continued that today against Dundalk. Others reasons could be Sunday, manu-liverpool....

Add in the Chelsea game and it sinks fast. The stadium still looked well on tv and full respect to the Dundalk fans who seemed like they were intent on making noise the whole way.

I wouldn't see much reason why Chelsea being on TV would reduce the number of fans at a Rovers game. Much more to the point is whether Rovers might have peaked last season. I think winning the League last year would have copperfastened a greater support. Will they have a marquee Real Madrid game this year for the barstoolers? Fans will be on O'Neill's back by the Easter if the current run keeps up.

I’m not pedantic...I’m merely overly concerned with minute details.

It's Ireland, ie the home of Sky Super Sunday, which means barstoolers will have settled in for a day's worth of football starting with the reds of Manchester and Liverpool, followed by Chelsea and Blackburn, way more interesting than what's on offer at home. I am almost empted to agree that Rovers peaked a little with the move to Tallaght etc, yet it's that way for most clubs who come through a storm and start back at the mundane - improving match day atmos and so on. Winning the league last year would have papered over the cracks, a development season might be perfect right now - imo.

Those Bohs figures are interesting. I wonder if the rise is somehow linked to them not being on TV as much as they were this time last year. Still think they're attendances are a bit low for a side that's won the league a few times on the trot.

They've only had one home game so far, it's a bit early to be making deductions about trends.

so far we've only had one home game in the league this season which is what that figure is based on. The estimate there is quite low compared to what was given in the press and estimated by the fans who were actually there. They said it was in the 2900-3200 range. If we can keep around the 2800 mark for the season i would be delighted to be honest.

skstu, do you have any idea if season ticket holders are counted in that number?

You're asking if season ticket holders are counted in the unofficial guesses at the attendance?

They are counted all 2700 of them when 65% of this seasons income makes up next seasons budget.....think on!

theres a members stile where the members who attend are accounted for. Based on that my assumption would be that only those who attend are included in any official or unofficial figures. We have nearly 500 members now, up from 250-300 a few years ago.

800 members and season ticket holders combined according to the most recent figures I`ve seen.
