    Premiership player wins on Countdown

Not sure if it should be here or off topic!

RTÉ's slavering devotion to English football is in fine fettle, but fair dues to Burnley's Clarke Carlisle for breaking a few stereotypes.

Impressive, I had a go myself and couldn't beat his score in any round (though I matched him in a lot of them).

It begs the question, how can it be fair? Everyone knows that you can have brains or brawn, but not both.

He did very, very well and was a worthy winner. I assumed he was on the show as some sort of populist novelty factor but he was great!

Fair play to him, it's one thing trying to deal with the mathematical and grammatical tests but it must be even harder to keep your concentration when this lovely lady is prancing around the place.
