yeah i remember the ad alright, the bar was The Odeon i think but i cant for the life of me remember what the ad was for...
This is an act of a desperate, well, eejit. For about 2 months I've been trying to remember what a certain ad was for and also does anyone know if it's to be found on youtube or somewhere.
The scene is a busy bar, somewhere chic in Dublin but not Kielys (as there seemed to be some intelligent conversation happening). Good looking girl at the bar/table, very handsome well dressed guy walks in, smiles, eye contact, she drops her number for him (or vice versa) and cue him going to call her with the most horrendous Munster accent - "Hello kid, it's me, the guy from the bar. No, really it is."
It was out in 2000 and I think it may have been Vodaphone or Carlsberg or something.

It was for Vodafone I think. The moral was "it's better to text" which shows that text messaging was the new thing so about 2000 sounds right.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
bit of research, it appears it was Esat Digifone, this is all i can find...
