Its really not that complicated!!!
BBC gossip column / Scottish Sun says Miller off to Hibernian.
If he moves to Scotland it will finish him as regards the Ireland squad.......Sign Liam QUICK!
LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
This is another Liam Brady/John Hughes hook up, Graham Stack, Anthony Stokes, Stephen Bradley, Patrick Cregg and now Miller, Brady should get an award from FAS.
One thing that is for certain is that Miller has taken a frickin' huge paycut (as has Stokes) to go to Hibs, they are one of the better run Scottish clubs and stick rigdly to their pay structure....hope all works out well for him to be fair, its hardly his fault Trap is picking him
Edit....he (Brady) also hooked Stephen O'Donnell up with Falkirk
You show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser - Vince Lombardi
Absolutely agree. Its a disgrace he is in the squad. How Trap has been allowed get away with it is beyond me. I have lost all respect for him for the way he has treated some of our players like Dean Kiely and Andy Reid, while bending over backwards to include a player like Liam Miller. There have been tribunals set up for less scandals than this!!
“I’d always play Pirlo but Trapatoni says his first concern is to avoid losing goals. The truth is that we didn’t know what we were doing out there" Gennaro Gattuso, June 2004.
Yeah, but Liam Miller didn't refuse to stop a late night drinking session & have a row with management afterwards. maybe Trap preferred Miller's attitude around the camp and maybe (as I was - for once) Trap was impressed by Miller's performance against Nigeria.
I'd have Reid over Miller any time but I don't think it's a disgrace. Reid has at least partly been the architect of his own downfall.
While I believe Andy Reid should be in the squad, I'd say at least 75% of managers in the top two tiers of English football would pick Westwood ahead of Kiely if given the choice.
I'm a big Kiely fan and still rate him, but Westwood is probably the best keeper in the Championship, and unlike Kiely, actually plays.
Agree totally on Westwood.
The two situations have a lot of parallels actually- both Kiely and Andy Reid were essentially disruptive (or perceived to be) when left out of starting XI's, but were not good enough to warrant that sort of attitude of entitlement.
Trap wants his bench players to be hungry, but accepting, of their role if not chosen to start, and I can understand his desire to eliminate moaners from the group (I'm sure we've all played with moaners who don't play as much as they like and let everyone know about it, and if you have, you know it doesn't help things at all).
On talent alone, Andy Reid and Kiely should be in the squad 100%, but talent is just part of the equation, and none of us on this site know all the details, except for Manblue and thedoc.
If Trapp rates him (Which you would assume given his repeated inclusions) why hasn't he been recomended to some clubs in Italy. He's on a free. Low risk involved..
Sweet Jebus, what a moanfest. Kiely, who isn't getting his game for his club, walked out after Westwood was not unreasonably picked ahead of him for the second half of a friendly. Reid has been barely able to get into a bad Sunderland side, has had words with Trapattoni and doesn't really fit the formation.
Trapattoni is a manager with an incredible record, good staff, and a very credible record as Ireland manager (when's the last time we were comfortable for second place at this stage of a group?).
Still, the Championship Manager experts and assorted professional whingers insist that it could be so much better if only their debatable suggestion were acted upon, that the guy who's actually getting results and has a track record among the best in the game is somehow inferior to them in team selection and tactics. I don't know why I still read the Ireland sub-forum.
Is it lonely?... Up there on your pedestal!!
I thought Miller would have went to Preston, especially after a Preston midfielder broke his leg a couple of weeks ago.
Always look on the bright side of life
