Candystripes linked with ex-United starlet
Former Manchester United youth team star winger Ben Thornley has been mentioned in connection with a move to eircom League Premier Division side Derry City after falling out of favour at English Nationwide league Third Division strugglers Bury.
Thornley, a left winger, broke into the United first team squad in the 1996/97 season, making several appearances in the side, including in a big top-of-the-table Premiership clash with Arsenal as recently as March 1998, which the Gunners won with a single goal from Marc Overmars.
