Has to go to Drogs then, they're a massive club compared to Longford according to no-one but themselves...

Time to halt the signing of average players... some of what we have should be retained but as of the end of the season we should be signing first 11 players... now we have Barrett and Francis and Lavine as cover, excepting the youth we should be signing one other and we know who that is...

    it's not keego...

    plus he's expensive...

Agree, except I would go as far as saying we shouldn't be signing another striker and going with Adrian Murphy as cover..... Like you say we have more than enough squad players, particularly if we get Kelly on a similar season long deal. 2 Central Midfielders and we're sorted IMO.

I still think Adrian would benefit from a loan move for at least one season at a first divison club.... he's not going to get the constant football at a premier club in order to improve... IMO he is very green... the likes of athlone is a chance to get experiance....

Well IMO Murph should've been getting the greeness out of his system the tail end of the season. With all due respect to Kelly, it was a waste giving him the chance and not the young lad. Actually ditto Gary Murphy in midfield.

leave kelly out of it... could have given that chance depends on how you feel,

was this season a great season due to the cup win or was it a great season due to the 4th place finish... IMO it was the league and I wouldn't have jeopardised that... for anyone...

I'll leave the great season debate for the new thread. It's nothing personal about Kelly, but he's proven - by your own admission Adrian Murphy is "green".... Some kind of run in the team would've given us an indication as to whether he'll live up to the hype...

I'd love Alan Murphy to come to the club, his work rate and scoring rate is brilliant..I know that he would be interested in a move to Longford..Handy for him to keep his job and it's not too far away from Mayo..As for Paul Keegan I think he would be a good signing too...We had Lavine last season and he did nothing, at least Keegan scores goals...He wants to get out of Bohs, can't stand Kenny (who would blame him). I'd like to get rid of Lavine and Kelly and replace them with Murphy and maybe Keegan..

so what your saying is that we could have Francis, Barrett, Adrian, Paddy and perhaps Alan Murphy... That's way too much to have for front men... Lavine should be taken out the back... (max power is looking into it) and Kelly isn't ours and cost feck all anyway... so really your talking about having 5 strikers and getting rid of 2, one of which isn't ours to get rid of...

Xlex i was going to give Eric the gun so he could do it himself, but he just kept missing, keegen is a good target man in the air but i don't want him at the club thanks, the two murphys need experience, athlone or sligo would do i think.
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........

Would you call Paddy a striker?? If Matthews is in talks with Alan Murphy and Paul Keegan,to name but two he's prob going to get rid of some players..Alan Murphy is Mr Versatile, he's actually a midfielder but Tony Mannion decided to play him up front and kept him there...Trying him in the middle of the park as well wouldn't be a bad thing...
