    Galway United vs. Dundalk FC

I'll be in Galway city about 3pm next Friday. Where do Galway fans usually go before games? Where should I go for a bit of pre-match craic?

Are there many Lilywhites travelling down to Terryland for the game?

Just home. Great performance tonight I think. After a first 30 minutes when nothing happened at all I thought we absolutely played Dundalk off the pitch for the remaining 60. Had two great chances just before half-time and we literally must have had over a half a dozen good chances in the second half. Had we even taken half our chances overall it could have finished 4 or 5 nil.

Thankfully Breen managed to sneak one because for a while I thought it was going to end scoreless which would have been a travesty. Defence was excellent. I honestly can't remember Dundalk having even a half chance all game. Also we passed the ball and kept possession really well once the lads settled. Foster looks to have unearthed some gems although I'd still like another striker at the club to compliment what we have.

More of the same please is all I can say.

    Didnt dominate.

We didnt have total dominance and only got fully on top after we had the extra man.Was a poor game in the first half especially but the weather didnt help.Dundalk are not "physical" they are dirty and will pick up ALOT of yellow's this season. That game tonight was a game we use to lose so it was nice to come out on the right side of the result. We did deserve it.WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE

We were creating good chances though well before the sending off. There was at least three in the 15 minutes after half-time including the one tipped onto the bar and the one Derek slashed wide with his left from straight in front. The goal was coming although obviously after the sending-off it was chance after chance. We were a bit wasteful really. Had Dundalk stuck one in from a set-piece or something we would be sick with the amount of chances we missed. Need to be more clinical.

First half was pretty dull alright. Game only livened up once we had that chance from a free-kick into the box when Derek hit the post followed immediately by McBrien's one on one with the keeper just before the break.

Great to have kept a clean sheet. Really should have added to the 1 goal in the last few minutes, both Murphy and Derrek missed sitters. Superb start, seems to be a great spirit within the side, crowed a little disappointing, suppose it was a bad night. Great noise 2nd half in the old stand, well done.

    struggle

great to get the first win at home this season so early. justly deserved. lack a striker and a more experienced midfielder. Will struggle against better teams but the signs so far look good.
