Thumbs up New Manager for 2009 season

Its sad to see a guy that lives breaths football and looks afer the young players IN Cobh who would not get a chance otherwise.

Who do you think will take over from Mr Football
Martin Cambridge or what about Colin O Brien
Darragh Burke or Alan O Sullivan
Our do you think.. can you afford a manager from outside Cobh.

Just thinking outside box will you have a team in 1st Div LOI next year or will the team go MSL.

    John Caulfield or Dave Hill.

If we get investors in the choices might be different and regardless if we do or not we will DEFINITLEY be playing LOI football next season.

I'd be inclined to give Eddie a shot with Packie as his assistant and they would be my stand-out choices if we were to go local.
Billy Cronin up at Rockmount would be another great option IMO.

If we get investors a more high profile list of candidates would be possible but high profile don't mix with 1st Division do they!

Eddie would be a great choice and would get my vote however I have a feeling he might not be interested.

Caulfield would get my vote, however i dont think we may be choosing our manager for next year our club isnt a massive attraction at the mo and their could be quite an exodus of players to come.Tonights Echo claiming Hendo could still be here cant argue against that choice.

i think he would needs a lot of reasureance that he will be given the help and resources needed to do his job, the way it should be done, and not have all the bickering and ****e that has marred our season continue for another year,

so it is extremely unlikely that he will stay

It would be good to see Caufield or Cronin in the division to see what they could do. I would like to see Dave Hill back I would think he has gained a lot of experience with Damo at city!!

I honestly cant see hendo managing us for another few years anyway.

As for eddie and packie combo, think eddie has work commitments which would rule him out.

Martin Cambridge Colin O'Brien would be top quality IMO, wouldnt mind that at all.

And im a massive fan of hill, always was!!

I'd love to see Packie envolved. An absolute legend and I don't use that term lightly. Would be great to have some local envolvement even if it meant at no. 2. It really is going to be tough to find the right man for the job given the present climate. Just hope we get the right man at the right price

Kabia - jesus no way, he couldnt manage Mallow, got ran out of Corinthians and i dont even no if he's dtill in this Country!!!

Colin O'Brien player/manager, maybe with another ex-experienced player alongside him (ie, Derek Daly or Dave Hill or Caulfield)

Everything... If you undo all the good work that ur manager did bring a known bad manager u go back to where u were a few years ago. You need to keep going forward and thrust me the hill is the wrong man, you have cambridge . Burke. Plus one or two others well worth a chance. Dont cambridge hold an uafa B badges

Look,we need a manager who can work off a shoestring budget and someone with him who knows the talent in Cobh.Lets not cod ourselves into thinking we are are big club we are not and wont ever be until the heart is back in the club and everyone is on the same playing field as said someone local needs to be involved on some level but lets not give it to anybody just for the sake of having someone...

Also it has been reported that "clubman" N.O.D and a tribe of local businessmen is on to hendo about coaxing him to re-consider,im not sure what that means but if we have ppl who are going to invest in the team next year than we have learned nothing and will sink further into debt, put the money into youth pitches--ffs Avondale,Douglass Hall,Rockmount,Midleton,Youghal are just some of the MSL teams with facilities we can only dream of and im not kiddin.

I forgot about Eddie's work commitments so it more or less rules him out.

I don't know why, but I really feel that Daragh would make an excellent manager....................Daragh for Ramblers! (I wonder who his assistant will be!)

Ur right they all have pitches ect but dont travel to dublin, sligo, galway, derry ect mid week miss days from work most week and loose pay. Loi players have to be paid for their time cost of overnights transport some one have to pay all the cost. If these clubs had to pay out 10k a week they would not have what they got . Most of loi clubs have money troubles so you cant compare like for like between msl v loi
