Probably hoped they’d get fitter with a few weeks training. Obviously it didn’t happen. Assuming there’s not a resurrection of our form I think he’s still shown enough to get another year but he’ll need to improve the squad. There’s a real risk of losing the likes of Verdon and McGlade though.

Fenn in notes for programme at weekend confirmed that Chris Mulhall has retired from football altogether...
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

He's left Bray already and back with Crumlin Utd Senior Sunday http://www.irish-boxing.com/midfield...rumlin-united/.

Gary Cronin takes over the reins at Bray.

Verdon gone for the season and Elworthy injured in the warm up the other night too. A tiny squad gets even smaller. Credit to Fenn and the few players he does have left for their performance in Sligo. The better team on the night won.

verdon is a massive loss to us. the pressure will be more on mcglade to deliver for us. we dont really have anyone to replace Sam which is a pity. I dont know how far Dean Byrne is from a return?

He’s out for the season as well as far as I know. To agree with what De Town says above, getting any kind of positive results with the severely depleted squad he has now is as impressive a piece of work as Fenn has done in his time with us. We could do with Meenan deciding to put in some performances at this stage.

from what I saw of Meenan v Athlone it was by far his best performance for us.He had a key role in the goal in Sligo. Hopefully he will keep the good form up!

Meenan was excellent for first 30 minutes v Galway, drifted out of the game after that but still had his best game for us. Heart be in the mouth with some of his tackles. Credit Jamie Doyle for a brilliant showing

Why is he such a clown on the pitch? He has the ability and experience, but totally ruins it by creasing some useless kid.

was he like that in his prime with Dundalk? seen during the week that theres a great chance that Sam Verdon could be fit for shels match.Whether I believe this is another matter.

Fenn said last week that he had a slight fracture in his ankle. If that’s the case there’s no way he’s playing, no matter how slight it is!

what a performance from us last night. defensively we were solid. for a long while we had no leader in defence but now we have one in Mick Kelly -the man was immense and made some superb saves for us. Tristan for the first time in over a year was superb. yet again Danny OReilly,Dean Zambra and Dylan McGlade were top notch. Maybe just maybe our luck is beginning to turn and we will make the playoffs.

Was speaking to Sam Verdon after the game and he looked in great shape and said he would be back for UCD game which is a huge confidence booster if we are to make the playoffs. Jamie Hollywood was in crutches so I would doubt he would come back as quickly.

Also the crowd was the biggest in a few years -612.

Depressing that 612 is considered a big crowd but has to be sad great progress has been made this season and hopefully next season if we are still in the FD we can try and get 600 in every week and closer to 800+ for the big games. Gutted with the draw but it’s all about the play offs, beating Shels was just a nice bonus.

Cork game is to be televised. Hopefully we get a “Danny O’Connor moment”. Though, and you may think I’m crazy here, you’d have to say Cork will be favourites.

eh what do you mean? I thought RTE dont show anything live in the FAI Cup until the semi final stage.

I thought it was a windup about RTE coming to CCS but happily seen confirmation on the club twitter a/c so confusion gone now!

No worries Marty. Any excuse to post that goal and relive the moment again. I think that was the night Rico broke the away dressing room door.
