Don't think it'll be too long before he ends up back in the LOI.
Travelling to Portugal this morning to sign the deal, according to the MNS Facebook.
Don't think it'll be too long before he ends up back in the LOI.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Best of luck to him, a good little player who seems to have his feet on the ground and his head screwed on from the few brief chats I had with him. Will be very interesting to see how he gets on!
Wouldnt be surprised to see him end up a bigger Portugese team and then upwards again after that in the next few years.
Think though that Sligo were fleeced, especially with the hefty chuck of the reported 60k that Ive heard will be going to d24 as a development fee
Mario
ROvers will get a maximum of 5% of the €60k. Or €3,000

And considering you let him go to Sligo for nothing fairly recently, I'd imagine Sligo are happier about the deal then Rovers

Has anyone else heard that Mr. G. Twigg could be on the way out of Tallaght? An offer from Scotland (Hibernian).
Extracts from Twigg interview with Irish fanzine You Boys in Green a few weeks ago:
YBIG: How is life outside football in Ireland treating you?
Twigg: Ye it's been good for me. Obviously my wife is Irish. It's good for her and my kids were born here, I enjoy it. It's pretty much the same way of life as it is in Glasgow, it's not much different.
YBIG: Can you see yourselves staying long in Ireland?
TWIGG: Ye, my missus doesn't want to move anywhere else. Even when I finish football I will be staying here.
There was an interview with Twigg in the last issue with YBIG and he sounded very settled, his wife and child are Irish and he said he'd most likely be staying here after he retired from football (Sives on the other hand sounded like he'd be off if he got a half decent offer). So unless it's a financial offer too good to refuse I can't see him going anywhere.
*Edit* HulaHoop beat me to the puch and even has quotes!
Tallaght Stadium Regular
Only going from what I heard from a Tallaghtman. Can't say naatin more.
I saw the rumour coming onto rte.ie - on the transfer watch. Personally I'd be surprised if he moved now, far better to wait until January.
Sure Neale Fenn can replace him..

Hmmm, the star are reporting a five figure sum ...
Also after Bohs recently sold that young fella to Wolves wasnt it reported in the media that most of the fee would go to Home Farm and Belvo (iirc)?

Reports suggest the transfer fee is in the region of £75,000, with Bohemians set to receive around £40,000.
Smaller Irish clubs Belvedere and Home Farm are also set to get a cut after helping Doherty develop before his recent move to Bohemians.
Bohs boss Pat Fenlon said: "We have spoken to his schoolboy clubs here in Dublin and they are happy with what we are doing.
"This is a great opportunity for Matt, sometimes it's not just about making money - and I know we need the money - but we're not standing in his way. He's a very good young player who has a real chance.

I'm not sure what the deal with Doherty is - the other 35k may be speculative add-ons.
Sligo will be obliged to redistribute 5% (and no more) of the transfer fee received proportionally among Amond's underage clubs.
correct CD.
regarding Training Compensation:When a professional moves during the course of a contract, 5% of any compensation, with the exception of Training Compensation, paid to his Former Club shall be deducted from the total amount of this compensation and distributed by the New Club as a solidarity contribution to the club(s) involved in his training and education over the years (calculated pro rata if less than one year) he was registered with the relevant club(s) between the Seasons of his 12th and 23rd birthdays, as follows:
Season of 12th birthday: 5%
Season of 13th birthday: 5%
Season of 14th birthday: 5%
Season of 15th birthday: 5%
Season of 16th birthday: 10%
Season of 17th birthday: 10%
Season of 18h birthday: 10%
Season of 19th birthday: 10%
Season of 20th birthday: 10%
Season of 21st birthday: 10%
Season of 22nd birthday: 10%
Season of 23rd birthday: 10%
Total = 100%
and1. Domestic Training compensation shall be payable for training and education between the ages of 12 and 23. Training compensation shall be payable up to the age of 23 for training incurred up to the age of 21, unless it is evident that a player has already terminated his training period before the age of 21.
Article 5 - Training Compensation costs
1. Training Compensation is calculated at €500 per season of training. This payment will be on a pro rata basis to those clubs involved in the training of the player.
2. Accordingly, the first time a player is registered as a Professional, the Training Compensation payable is calculated by multiplying this sum by the number of seasons spent training from the Season of the player's 12th birthday to the Season of his 21st birthday. If a Former Club has the facilities to offer a contract but does not, no Training Compensation is payable unless the Former Club can justify that it is entitled to such compensation.
regarding Doherty as far as i know he was not a "professional" therefore different rules would apply and i think then that the underage clubs may have been entitled to more though i am not sure on that.
Is he the young fella who had a mare against TNS?
no, he only played against Wolves in a friendly. Thats where Mick noticed him. Dont think he has played a competitive game for Bohs.
BTW, there were 11 players who had a mare against TNS. Granted though, they werent all young.
