Having played with him and seen him in action in recent years, I'd have no problems at all with Devine being called up. I'd 100% have him before Colgan anyway.
Latest news is that Kenny is injured, so Henderson will be goalkeeper against the Czech republic.
I was thinking, seeing as Henderson plays in League 1, surely the older, more experienced Mick Devine, with European experience is a better choice? And the Eircom League is surely a higher level competition than League 1?

Maybe we could get Delaney to tell Staunton to call him up.

How Kenny has a strained hamstring is beyond me. A back strain I can get i.e. picking the ball out of the net but anything else is taking the biscuit!!!

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
Mick Devine is the second Best Keeper Ireland has. Fact.
Its a disgrace Devine has been overlooked in favour of Brighton keeper at lower end of League One.
I wouldn't blame Staunton for Kenny as who would have thought a Premiership would concede 9 goals in 2 games.
Have to say, Devine always looks quality.
More to the point Devine is 33. It's not unreasonable for Stan to pick Henderson who has been solid for our under age teams if he felt ihe was likely to be on the bench. Would you call up Devine now for tomorrow's match?
I've never seen Henderson play so I can't comment on him.
Just because someone plays in a bad team, doesn't make them bad. How many here critising Henderson simply cos he plays in League One have actually seen him play??
However, I think Mick Devine is the most consistent keeper in the eircom League and he certainly is very good. Yet, as mentioned he is prone to a few mistakes and I personally feel he is a bit slow off his line and occasionally his communication with defenders is poor.
I would rate Paddy Kenny more.

I'm not having a go at Henderson. My point is more that Devine should be ahead of Colgan who has proved himself to be a disaster therefore why continue with him?

Seems like a contradiction there as the faults you say Devine has are certainly true of Kenny is last 2 games.
Hopefully Kennys last 2 games were a blip & I am realistic enough to think no eL keeper will get in ahead of the Premiership. Henderson & Colgan are the debate though. League One is no better than the eL & no opportunity to play in high pressure european games & different style of opposition.
Personally I would have Devine on the bench for tomorrows game ahead of Colgan. Devine is a good keeper but not as good so he would certainly be fourth choice for me at least. He is not as good as Kenny though.
Kenny's a better keeper than Mick Devine.

The problem with Devine is his age. Stan believes in this 'youth thingy' that I still dont understand and Joe Murphy would be next in line to get the call ahead of Devine... Henderson will learn a lot from this and be beneficial to Stan's 'WC 2010 plan thingy' which... I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND!!!
I'd rather have his brother Dave in nets. And I reckon Oso could still do a job for us in midfield!

Devine has 20 clean sheets out 30 league & Setanta Cup games this season. 19 from 33 league games last season.
Yeah, but Thierry Henry couldn't even score against Paddy this season yet Kevin Doherty scored against Devine. Conclusive proof that Paddy is better... Or am I starting to sound like Stan and his '2010 plan'?
