Ooops, now confirmed on the Bristol City website that they haven't received clearance to play. Get your finger out, Sepp.
Jimmy is starting for Bristol City against Cleveden Town today (Tuesday) together with Patrick Hoban of Mervue. Best of luck to them both.
Ooops, now confirmed on the Bristol City website that they haven't received clearance to play. Get your finger out, Sepp.
Although GUFCT has already reported it on the "transfers" thread, good to see that Jimmy and Patrick Hoban have now officially secured one year contracts at Bristol City and that Steve Coppell's departure did not affect their chance at the club.
We're mentioned on the City website as "Wessex United".
I was wondering too what they were referring to as Wessex UTD??
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Was any fee involved in the transfer?
Cornflakes, not sure what position is as regards a transfer fee.
Since moving to Bristol, Jimmy and Patrick have played in two reserve matches according to the Bristol City website. In the first, Bristol drew 1-1 with Cheltenham Town and in the second, they beat Aldershot 4-1 with Jimmy setting up the first goal with a freekick which was headed home by Kalifa Cisse. On the BC Supporters Club website, one onlooker at the second match said that one of the Irish lads was playing a blinder but as he couldn't tell them apart, I don't know which one it was.
Jimmy came on at half-time and scored the second in a 6-0 win against Paulton Rovers last weekend. Patrick came on with 30 to go. Good reviews of Jimmy's efforts on the BC fans website.
Jimmy played last 13 minutes of friendly for Bristol City reserves in one-nil loss against Swansea reserves on Thursday. No mention of Patrick Hoban in the match report but he may be injured.
Jimmy played 90 minutes yesterday for Bristol City reserves in a 3-2 win against a Reading side including Noel Hunt who scored one of the Reading goals. Patrick Hoban came on for the last half an hour and scored one of the City goals.
Jimmy and Patrick Hoban played for Bristol City against Forest Green Rovers in the Gloucestershire Senior Cup last night. Score was 3-3 after 90 minutes and due to fog went straight to penalties which City won 13-12. Both Jimmy and Patrick scored two penalties with Jimmy taking the winning one.
Wexford's Oscar Traynor side beat Kilkenny 2-0 on Saturday and now have to play Waterford for a place in the quarters.
Wexford Youths U17 lost to Shamrock Rovers in the Umbro U17 Cup on Sunday morning.
Both Jimmy and Patrick today reported to be heading to local side, Clevedon Town, on a month's loan.
Would suggest that they are a long way off making the first team squad at present.
Both Jimmy Keohane and Patrick Hoban have now returned to Bristol City from their loan to Clevedon Town.
Hopefully, they can feature in the first team squad before the end of the season.
Jimmy and Patrick Hoban played for Bristol City Reserves in one-one draw against Birmingham City Reserves yesterday. Jimmy did the ninety with Patrick coming off with five to go.
First time, they've been mentioned on the Bristol website for a while.
I read recently (think it was in the Indo) that WYFC got an estimated €100,000 for him. Not bad at all if it's true.

Jimmy scored for the Bristol reserves last Wednesday:

Jimmy Keohane and Patrick Hoban both played for Bristol City reserves in a 2-0 win over Exeter City yesterday.
Bristol City are planning a new U-21 team for next year (new U-21 league being planned) and are now giving full-time contracts to some of the U-18 squad. As Jimmy is only just 20, it hopefully means he has a good chance of being kept on.
Bristol City's website has confirmed today that both Jimmy Keohane and Patrick Hoban will not be retained next year.
Probably not much of a surprise as they hadn't managed to break through to the first-team squad and several other younger players had been introduced to the first-team panel in recent weeks.
Would be great to see Jimmy back in the Youths team in our push up the table.
Unfortunate that he went there just as Coppell was leaving, reminds me of Lyng signing for Preston just as Moyes was leaving. Would like to see him come home and play a few months with us, get his bearings and hopefully make a new go of it after the summer or next season.
A man can have no greater love than give 90 minutes to his friends
He has signed for Exeter City according to Sky Sports News yesterday.
