Coin toss is happening next Tuesday night.
A coin toss is what will probably decide it unless the two teams could agree to play it in a neutral venue. Should all be sorted by end of week.

Is there a special type of coin used by the FAI?
Anyone know when the LC location dreaw is taking place?
Final in Derry. Cobh had the draw live on their Facebook.

Considering how far apart the two teams are, is there really no neutral venue that could be found?

A neutral venue would surely suit neither club, not both?
The League Cup final was home/away once upon a time
Would 50:50 between the clubs (or as close to it as possible) not be better than 100:0? I mean, if no one has any objections to a coin flip, then fair enough. Very hard on Cobh though.

Athlone is 50/50; I can't see that suiting either.
Having it in Dublin would halve the crowd I'd say.
The only way you're going to see a crowd at a League Cup final is if one of the teams are at home.
Assume the gate is still split same as the FAI Cup, so a 2,500+ crowd in Derry would at least cover some of the expenses of Cobh, and they're going to get a few quid for getting to the final too (something in the region of €8k-€10k?)
Either way, St Colman's Park wouldn't really be the most suitable cup final venue for TV purposes mostly.
Makes sense to hold it in Derry.

Cobh also unluckily lost out to Derry in a draw for home advantage for their Setanta Cup Play-off at the end of the 2007 season
