first weekend in the Championship. disappointing to Not See Judge get a start or obenge be involved for brentford. No sign of cotter or mcloughlin for ipswich. Nice to See manning involved for QPR under a new manager. Sheffield utd with mcgoldrick Stevens and egan starting but will any Of them be first choice for us? Same with reading mcshane, kelly(?), and meyler starting unlikely to be first choice for us. Nice to See o Brien Scorecard for millwall Nyt where does he fit for Us? Nothing New and exciting From Irish perspective On first Championship weekend. Nice to see curtis Start for portsmouth might be interesting to See if he can kick on
For this season our probable striking set-up is basically Long, Walters plus two/three from Maguire, Hogan, McGoldrick, O'Brien, Robinson and Burke. Maguire is likely the prime candidate for one of the spots based on his form last season, but will be out injured for the next couple of international games so this may open the door for the others to impress. It will be one of MON's challenges to choose the best options from that group.
Anthony Stokes' first goal in Iran, Conrad Logan's 50th appearance for Mansfield Town, Jonathan Hayes returns from injury and more in the first round up of 2018/19: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...33857953731578

Obafemi at Southampton is one.
Josh Cullen the other?
yep, well done! I've been updating the stats for the Premier League on the site over the summer, and now I'm confident on the appearance data I have for all Premier League seasons. With that in mind, I checked out what Irish players have played in the Premier League, and have not (yet) earned a senior international cap. There's 42 altogether, including Obafemi and Cullen: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...32700603167034
Today's question: when was the last time Ireland named a starting XI of players who have played in the Premier league
Hint: it was under the current manager
Before the new Premier League season kicks off tomorrow, I wondered how many times an Ireland team has been named with 11 starting players who have played in the top division in England: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...08275780745828
Final question before the new premier league season starts, when was the last time Ireland named a starting XI of players who were all at premier league clubs?
Hint: it hasn't happened under the current, or previous manager
International games where the Ireland Starting XI was composed entirely of Premier League players: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...08102060980330
