    2017 Squad

Club website has confirmed that Lee Grace has left the club. Best of luck to him - many people's player of the season in 2016. You'd expect him to get a premier division spot without any difficulty.

Craig Wall has signed for the club for 2017. He didn't play in 2016 so it's great to have him back.

Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

He wasn't training Marty. Mathews said if he wanted to play he'd have to train. Duffy didn't want to train so Mathews showed him the door.

so I wonder what is the difference this time? Why would he not train when he was under contract?

Probably nothing different this time. Will start of the season a good boy training and if the season goes pear shaped expect no shows at training but will still turn up every Friday or Saturday looking for a game. Did he not do something similar at Drogheda?

Yeah he was one of the 6 or 7 players that didn't bother training at drogs after the got smashed by Dundalk. Apparently he wouldn't train with us Coz of his dodgy ankle so but the club arranged an operation for him and he didn't bother going for it and just stopped training altogether so was shown the door. Great natural talent but forget about it if he's coming down with the attitude of Wexford Been a small club and him been a big fish.
