Maybe they get higher viewing figures showing Derry? Maybe the boring atmosphere at Dalymount ? Who knows...

I heard more atmosphere/noise from the away Bohs fans at the last encounter in the Brandywell than i ever witnessed at Dalymount. But hey that was coming from the fans that are banned from their home games, maybe you should invite them back ?

Pats aren't mid table though are they?

This is the biggest example of "mountain out of molehill" I've seen on here in a while. Which is saying something given the dramaqueens here

With house prices in Derry sky roceting over the last decade, Derry people upped sticks and moved a mile or so into Donegal (Killea, Muff, Bridgend and Burnfoot) all within ten minutes of Derry city centre.

Most of them still use their grannies adresses so they still use Derry schools and health services. But most would pay a TV licence to the R.O.I. goverment coffers.

Hope this clears it up for you.

BTW Have you checked on how many times we'll be on Setanta in the next few weeks as well
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html

That's the trend, but surely the vast majority of Derry fans still live in NI.

Has the EL been reduced to 7 teams?
Considering we're 3rd in the league, I'd like to know how that makes us Mid-table.

And once Bohs go belly up and are deducted points we'll be second behind Pats.

    Mid table?

Since when was third considered mid table in a twelve team league? (and only two points behind second at that)

As I said earlier this is a pathetic thread, BohDiddley, you're really clutching at straws now. Give it up ffs.

You don't want to watch Derry City on TG4, then don't! You can watch us on Setanta instead.

Seriously though, these things have a habit of evening themselves out over a season so in reality it's nothing to get your knickers in a twist over

Hmm, I may have erred on the table positioning. In my head, Cork were still ahead -- forgot about the deduction. Let's amend that to third-placed in the league, 12 points off the leaders, going nowhere, and set to be trounced by a manager you sacked. Hardly a gimme for a scheduler. Thank you for your patience on that one.

On the thread quality, I must agree. I do think that the amount of discussion of this also has been disproportionate, but if you take out all of the posts that are completely irrelevant, or just Derry folk venting predictably, and for which I have no responsibility, it's rather shorter.

As to my original point, I'm well over it, but it still stands.

    Yawn.

You've got two alternatives for your motives:
    1) You troll, people respond (see bold). Its the internet.
    2) You're so insecure that you can't handle the fact that your big club aren't permanently on the telly.

Either way, you don't look clever.

We've had history lessons, geography lessons, diversions into the property market and now you resort to attacking the poster.
If you want me to give up I'm happy to. I really don't think we're going to get a rational discussion of why a TV company would concentrate its coverage in this way, apart from being too lazy to change to accommodate cup fixtures, especially when all we get is an orchestrated defence from Derry fans, as if somehow their precious profile is threatened. Let's just say that, for me, it feeds into the half-baked media treatment of Irish football generally.
I think I made clear earlier that I don't particularly want Bohs non-stop on the telly. In my view, it hits attendances. I was referring to the general spread of coverage, and I said that I would like to see some relegation-relevant coverage.
You may not like it, and I don't know what it's called in your part of the world: but here, it's called an opinion, and I see no reason to change it.

    Happens regularly on Liverpool TV

And it's finally dawned on me that Derry City are the Newcastle United of Irish Football - their fans are under the delusion that they are the self-styled "Bestest Fans in the Whole World... EVER" and are a massive club - when in fact all they have to get excited about every season is the League Cup...

LOL at a Bohs fan slagging another club's fans for being deluded that they're a massive club.

The rat wasn't sacked, he walked away. I think he realised that he wouldn't get away with spending money the club couldn't afford so bottled it.

    Sorry. Wasn't paying attention there.
Maybe it was just those drums that made him leave?

.......when of course we should be bowing down to the uberlords in Dalymount who have dominated domestic football for the last number of decades.

For christsake you haven't even got the trophy yet. You'll have lots of time for appendage waving when you do, and throughout the offseason as well.

The thread was a thinly disguised troll and got the landslide of crap in response that it deserved.

Fact (as your lot used to say).

    Seriously...

    IT

    IS

    NOT

    A

    TROLL

I expressed an opinion, which I still hold in the absence of any significant argument to the contrary, that TG4's focus on Derry is unwarranted and that scarce TV exposure should be spread around other clubs. That got an equally unwarranted volume of, frankly, mostly rubbish, knee-jerk replies, the majorith of them from the north-west corner of the island. It's a point of view. On the internet. Live with it.
If one really wanted to troll here it wouldn't be too hard now, would it?
