    Dwogs in trouble again

Drogheda may be deducted points because of their financial $hit. See eleven a side.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

It would be a pity to see the relegation spot being decided by something like this. It goes against the entire sporting ethos.

But I'm glad to see the FAI have found another way to annoy people. What a great organisation they are.

Before you all get carried away, don't believe everything you read, even if it is a story leaked from someone within Merrion Sq. All legal obligations have long been fulfilled, and any attempt to drag the club through the mud again will be vigourously resisted. When the incompetents who nearly ruined the club were removed, the new board vowed that DUFC would become one of the cleanest and most transparent in the country. That is still the case. All of this latest sh*t revolves around an extinct holding company, and the league have absolutely no legal grounds to impose any sanctions, let alone points deductions.
To tie this issue in with financial irregularity is incorrect.

so they'll dock you points, you'll take them to court and the league will end up back on the tabloids for all the wrong reasons and the EL will look like a heap of sh!t again. brilliant

If that happens, blame the league. When we were on our last legs, we took anything the league threw at us and dealt with it, even going way over our obligations to ensure that the league was happy and a minimum of fuss was caused.
I'm not going into the exact legal considerations, and I don't know for sure who is running this latest attack, but DUFC will stand firm, and if the league drag themselves down in an attempt to indict us, we will not be held reponsible. The days of blazers walking all over us is gone.

Is the issue not that the same holding company was to be resurrected but (according to eleven-a-side) it has not? So are Drogheda United trading under this company or not?

You may be correct in everything you say, DruggyDrog, but the story suggests one single question.
They either complied with the conditions under which they were allowed continue in the play-offs or did not.
    So the question is:
Did Drogs re-instate Hinge Trading Ltd on the companies register as instructed or not?

Hmmm... no annual returns or accounts submitted either.

It's not that hard to get a company reinstated either - there's a standard form for it, think it costs E300 or something to submit. They were told to do it as part of not being kicked out of the league and they haven't done it - tough.

Incidentally, when is the deadline which is mentioned at the end of the article??

    Re instating company

Once a company has been dissolved for more than a year its more difficult to re instate it as you have to go to the High Court and explain why it was allowed to be struck off etc.

This would be far more expensive than €300 as you'd need barristers, solicitors.

    Dwogs in Trouble again

Well accepting what Druggy Drog says there is only one question
U.C.D. have for United .Will we get our compo for losing Doolin to yiz or not ? Cause we'd be willing to accept Andy Myler back into the fold in lieu of compo

    Reply to Macy

Macy not for off field indiscretions because our club doesn't commit them. If our first team was as good on the field as our committee was off the field, we'd qualify for Europe every season.

Now would yiz ever fook off and win the bloody Cup or something

Well, okay - we accountants do have a way of taking in the money!!

Presume being ordered to reinstate the company would help them along the way though?

Either way, this unfortunately seems typically shambolic and Drogheda-like.

    A couple of points.

    1. Drogheda United FC have broken no rules, therefore points deduction or any sanction is uncalled for.

    2. Drogheda United FC are not in debt and in fact have less to be worried about, financially, that a lot of premier clubs.

    3. The League have absolutely no right to request the reinstatement of this dissolved company. A quick call to Merrion Sq last week confirmed this.

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the EL has an unbelievably difficult couple of years ahead, and if people think that these leaks and sabotage jobs will be restricted to Drogheda, you are very mistaken. Too many people with too many agendas pull the strings in this country, and we are only small fry.

    Exclamation ...........................................

Knee jerk reactions in controversy corner.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
