I avoid Ryanair (for comfort reasons) but I'll think you'll find its safety record is exemplary, particularly considering the size of its fleet.

I'm no fan of Ryanair either but that reads like they did it by the book. Machines can and will fail. It's how professionally an individual and/or an organisation reacts to a malfunction that's to be measured.

There was some fella on the BBC saying it was a disgrace the pilot didn't keep the passengers informed......... Seemed not to realise they were fairly busy concentrating on the emergency descent and landing!

Was thinking the exact same thing myself. I'm no fan of Ryaniar tbh but I wonder had it been British Airways, would yer man be saying the same thing?

Ryanair get criticised for customer service but as mentioned above with the size of their fleet their safety record is very good. Don't see how they can be criticised in this case either - lets face it people will always moan.

I would be more concerned with airlines following safety rules. In the US American Airlines were fined for breaking safety rules last week.

Flying to Georgia wouldn't be the most worrying part of that trip.

I just wonder how long before this incident gives MOL a money making brainwave. Emergency landing surrcharge? Oxygen mask supplement?

The 16 passengers who had been examined in hospital - and the five who had accompanied them - would continue by coach, along with 18 others who had chosen not to fly.
So, on a flight to Spain, they landed in the middle of France, and bussed the passengers the rest of the way. Seems like a routine Ryanair flight to me.

Is it by luck rather than by design though? I have to say the time they turn around does bother me as to whether they really have enough time to do all that is necessary. Apart from that I try to avoid Ryanair anyway, ethically (the way they're bullying Cork airport as an example as well as the obvious staff treatment issues) and comfort. Cheap tickets isn't the be all and end all.
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
