    Table Quiz I.T. Conundrum

I have searched ye olde www for a solution to this one. My confidence in the foot.ie community tells me that I will have the solution in time for our grand fund raising night for my local club.
We are having a couple of audio rounds in which we want to play clips of sounds, some sig tunes from T.V. programmes, snippets from well known tracks etc.
But how do you copy a fragment of a track onto a CD? All you get is the whole track. It is not as if you can select, cut and paste a bit onto a CD like you can with a Word document.
    Any ideas folks?

Audacity, my man, that's the answer!

One of the niftier programmes on the web, fully open source so I believe, so that part is kosher at least.
It's a sound editor, but it can simply be used to cut out clips. Just import the full mp3, mark out the part you want (it's displayed as a waveform), save it out, repeat as required, then burn the lot when you're done. Trash the CD after and I'm sure IMRO won't even mind!
