    FULL supporters club meeting needed

Further to my last post I think that it's imperative that the Supporters club have a Full meeting of the members after the Next Home Game..Oct 5th v Bray. This meeting should be held in the Back Room of Pike Clubhouse.

SLK/Deise are we all ok with this?

ALL members should attend to discuss the Future of Limerick FC and to bring ideas to the table for positive action

I'd call for a public meeting...immediately. It's pointless all of us bitching on here everyday from behind the comfort of our screens, myself included. Lets get cracking...asap. I can notify all relevant media, and organise a good central venue. One of the city hotels perhaps. It's time to s**t or get off the pot , as me grandda used to say!!

    Thumbs up

Money is needed not back room of the Pike meetings is required. To that purpose a public meeting should be convened.

There always has and always will be a pool of support for Eircom/League of Ireland football it is time to tap into that.

I may be being sentimental but I do think that there is still good memories among past limerick supporters which could be enough to save the club.

Give it a try what has any one to lose.

The 5th of October is a long way off

With respect to oyur posts, I was only talking about a Supporters club meeting to be held in Pike NOT a Public meeting. This meeting will establish the line we want to take. The next home game is on the 5th so the next meeting should be on that date, if only to ensure a good turnout of the members.

There are a lot of people talking at this point in time and not a lot of action

    John,

I agree with you that there are a lot of people talking at this point in time and not a lot of action. However, I think this is because there is no channel for that action.

I really think there is a lot of positive sentiment towards Limerick FC out there - but it has to be channelled into something. I agree with you that a supporters club meeting is needed but I really think a public meeting is a good idea. Not necessarily sponsored by the LFCSC - just to see what the situation in Limerick is.

Certainly at the least it can be used for fundraising - and at most as an opportunity to involve the wider football public. I know you have made a distinction between the LFCSC meeting and a public meeting - the Pike is grand for SC meetings (I will defo be at the Bray game) but a public meeting would need a central location e.g. the George or Glentworth or something.

The more I think about this the more I think the SC or the rest of us should actually start getting fundraising ideas going ourselves - parallel to the club and go to the corporation ourselves and see what can be done about the MF. Waiting for the club to do it will be a long wait and the committee will go at the end of the season so it would be good to have something advanced at that stage.

One other thing - the club is not insured! That is unbelievable and inexcusable. Someone trips at a game and the club gets sued and really is fuc ked. Or if a player breaks their leg they are not covered. Is it possible to find out how much it would cost to insure the players to the end of the season and is there enough in the SC coffers to pay? I would be 100% in favour of the SC paying for that. These players deserve much better than this.

Pay the insurance on for the club but only if the committe agree to a meeting with the supporters club. Handing over the money only relieves the pressure on them.
It is probably time for some tough love.
