Got an e-mail from a nice chap t�other day inviting me to speak at a summer school this Saturday, on a panel with a former minister and an Irish Times journalist because another speaker, a current minister, pulled out. Well, go me! Fame! Recognition!

Unfortunately I can�t do it, so I sent my regrets and casually asked where he got my name�

Turns out he does a trawl of college websites looking for any academics who might be suitable. So I�m on a very long, very non-exclusive list, and evidently very close to the bottom of it.

It�s a step up from a mail telling me I�ve won the Spanish lottery, I guess�
