you should go anyway mm. theres plenty of other acts there to interest you surely and it will be an amazing experience you and your son will have shared together??

While I'm hardly a festival nut I would never have a go/not go call made on a single act. It's different to a concert where you're primarily there for the main event, festivals are about having a good time over the course of a weekend so missing one set because a guy you like pulled out really shouldn't be a killer blow.

I agree that there are plenty more acts that I would like to see but I have seen them before, with the exception of The Drums whom I am going to see in December in the Academy which is much better. I have only missed two Oxegens since they were Witnness so know and love the festival vibe but since am paying for both of us to go and am extremely broke, John Mayer was the only reason I was going and Dylan really wanted to see Eminem and rumour has it he is going to be a no show too.

But he says he doesnt want to go if Eminem isnt playing so we are going to wait to buy our tickets on Thurs and see what the story is before that. He has plenty of time to go to Oxegen or its likes in the future and has been to Electric Picnic, U2 in Croke Park, Red Hot Chillis in Slane and 50 cent in the O2 among other gigs so he is not doing bad for a 15 year old! I had only been to one concert at his age.... Chris De Burg! :-0

I just stood on a boat 20 metres from North Korea. Odd experience to be with a group of tourists taking photos of some factories, smokestacks and fishermen but the most poignant thing of all was a solitary and stationary ferris wheel just in the middle of a field.
