How about removing the dirty orange Eircom logo from the jersey instead?
Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
    Homer: Woo-hoo. Four-day weekend

We have one team, but known by many names,
Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Éire and don't forget the fada.

I like this idea. For tables, would we be officially known as Éire instead of Rep. of Ireland? I actually wouldnt mind the Eircom logo on the jersey if it was just the lettering. it's just that big horrible orange yoke.

It's just going to be changed on the front where they embroider the date and the fixture. That's the only place on the shirt where it says Rep. of Ireland. That badge will still say FAIreland obviously unless they're changing their name to the FAE. The shirt has Ireland written on the back of the collar so it would've been a bit sh1t if they changed it there if you'd bought the new one when it came out a few months back. We'll have both Ireland and Eire on the match day shirts, the fans ones won't change.

For tables we will still be Rep of Ireland, as tables are in English language for all nations.

Does this not just mean the stitching on the match jersies will read 'Georgia v Éire' and the date?

I think the shirts had already been made for this fixture and they read "Georgia or Russia v Republic of Ireland"

For the last couple of years the match shirts have only had the opposition and date written on them - no mention of Ireland since the days of Brian Kerr.

The crest of the umbro shirt on sale now just says Ireland not FA Ireland
I'd assume that's what will change to Éire.
and maybe the Ireland on the collar as well.

The crest looks good on the shirt, the sponsors logo spoils it.
