I've never said he's not a spoiled little child wanting it all.
I don't think he mother Therese.

Agreed, except for the McCarthy being sacked part (not a few days before the WC anyway). I don't know why we were arguing?

A Yes Footballers the honest people............. They never cheat never dive never fake injury (Yes Conor I put that in for you), never take bribes never fluff a match never sleep with their team mates wives, yes indeed an honest bunch. Thank god most of them are thick because with a brain and that honesty they'd be running the world .

I agree we should agree to disagree but you love for Keane is almost scary.
Dalglish quit his contract at Liverpool did he not? He had even signed his contract and all!!!!!!!!!

Ummm, are you not overlooking the small point that the best player to play in the Premiership did exactly that - Alan Shearer?

Well AS was stupid for ending his International career, and also
stupid if he turned down Man U.
Apart from anything else the best player to play in the Premiership
    is/was Roy Keane.

Roy is also misguided by ending his international career, he would be better off missing some club matchs (not that restricting
matches is likely to prolong your career). You only really get
'match fit' by playing matches, not missing them.

I MIGHT HAVE MY FACTS MUDDLED HERE, BUT DID NOT ROY KEANE
PICK UP AN INJURY *AFTER* THE BREAK FOR INTERNATIONAL GAMES?
A QUICK CHECK SHOWS I AM RIGHT.
YOU DONT PROLONG YOUR CAREER BY PLAYING LESS MATCHS -
QUITE THE OPPOSITE. MISSING MATCHS MAKE YOU LESS FIT AND
    THEREFORE MORE PRONE TO INJURY.
A CONTARY VIEW PREHAPS, BUT LETS FACE FACTS, MOST FOOTBALLERS AND FOOTBALL MANAGERS ARE IDIOTS, I HOWEVER
AM A GENIUS AND I AM ALWAYS RIGHT.
SO MY MESSAGE TO ROY IS - GET BACK INTO THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE AND PROLONG YOUR DOSH EARNING CAREER, YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH, AND YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.

If you got fit by missing matches then the fittest players would
be couch potatos who have never played a professional game in their lives (like me, who is fairly unfit (but still a good player))

SO COME ON ROY GET YOUR BOOTS ON FOR THE SWITZERLAND GAME - YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.

    Another gem above there.

Keane/Shearer. Both great players and its probably unfair to compare them as they are tottally different, so there is no point in arguing over that. Id have the 2 of them in my team anyway.

    Reynolds is scum

Keane was in the "overseas" team of the decade. But when they combined the overseas team and the British team they dropped Keane for Paul Scholes. Hmm.

Most people here support the Republic of Ireland national team (Forums>Ireland>National team) of which Roy Keane is not a part.

I'm still here, I just got bored with a debate that was going absolutly nowhere.

Lads, let it die. I got to page 7 and got bored so just decided to skip on to the end and say that whatever about Roy Keane, Mick McCarthy, Kylie Minogue or whoever you lot are all w@nkers! This debate is without any doubt the most entrenched and pointless I've ever seen on foot.ie
For the sake of The Tommy Gorman school for Orphans just let it go!

    Oh no it's not!
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

    Oh yes it is!

It's got very boring. Seeing as it will soon be time for auditions for the forthcoming panto season (I was reminded by highlights of Manyoo V the Arse), and in the spirit of making this more interesting, what part would Roy play in the panto. And no, I don't mean Saipan, The Genesis report, Manyoo Shareholder meetings, the Premiership, the future of Scottish Football or anything like that.

For example, Kevin Kilbane is Buttons - nice guy, likeable, a tryer, but he won't end up with the girl. Lee Carsley is grudgingly given the back end of Daisy the Cow.

I'd rate him as the Widow - normally the most memorable player on stage, gets stuck into it, but not necessarily very pretty. I don't fancy hearing him sing either.

    Your thoughts please

Roy is not taking part in the panto. The costumes are ****e, the backing scenery is all bumpy and uneven, the band is out of tune and the props are all second hand. The stage management and the direction is the most unprofessional ever seen in a theatre. He's going home.......

And this could have been the best panto in the world as well.

Hmmm... Truculent manner, seeing conflict where there's none... Is tricky colour Roy Keane in disguise then?

Can't be arsed reading back over, but Gary Kelly - what a traitor chosing to prolong his club career over the national side......
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
