You don't want to see My Bloody Valentine???!!!
I'd also be at Candi Staton if I was there, just to hear You Got The Love done live, reckon that could be goosebumps time.
Gah, those tickets are wasted on the likes of you!

I don't go to guitar bands at festivals, seems like a waste of time for me and my chosen lifestyle Dance tents all the way, venturing out for the likes of Underworld or Sigur Ros, and I'm happy

I don't know if I'll bother looking for a ticket now with Sigur Rós on the Friday. I probably wouldn't get down in time after work for them and they really are the band I want to see the most...

P.S. - Go to see The Breeders, Kim Deal's (ex-Pixies) band.. Their new album is their first since 2002 but it's brilliant! I seen them live in Vicar Street in February - fantastic gig.

Conor Orburst is the best act there ( wont suit your frame of mind jebus )

I cant wait for it after my initial disapointment at the line up im actually glad that i dont know many acts . I think going to a festival and going to see the "big" acts is a waste. You have so much new music to be discovered why would you waste your time watching the kings of leon or franz ferdinand type bands.

In saying that ill still watch the sex pistols and ill be dragged to christy moore.

SO you need help then to enjoy the music, Does not say much for the music if it needs painkillers.

All music over the years needed help of some kind though, whether it was hi-fi, graphic equalisers, surround sound or whatever.
Just think of it as chemical equivalents of those!

Jeez I dunno, there are a few there I'd be looking forward to. Wish I had the option of giving it a miss MM.

And jebus, dismissively referring to MBV as a 'guitar band' is even worse!

Who said anything about me drinking alcohol or taking depressants?

I never mentioned alchol or depressants. Just think if music needs the listener to be enhanced by whatever it is, whether its drugs or alchol or a bird on their arm it does not say much about the music.

Often you find is guys who were off their head in their 20s and early 30s now not even listening to music in their mid to late 30s as they were never really fans of music in the first place but just enjoyed getting off their head and the whole idea of being cool and going to raves etc.

Thank God this isn't 1989 or I'd probably take offence at that

Still, it's probably better than going around with a "Closed" sign on your forehead.

Nick Cave's Grinderman are probably worth watching. Their eponymous debut album is pretty class.

Are you serious?, That was one of the worst gigs ever, they were out of tune and didn't look interested at all, they just didn't play well that night. I've seen them before and also when she was in The Amps and they were much better gigs, maybe some things are best left in the past.

As for Sunday at the EP, I'll be checking out Jah Wobble, Grinderman, My Bloody Valentine and The Pistols are always good with a few bevvies inside ya.

It will be pretty full come sat there will be parking in a near by field but it will by far enough away. Still if you are in and out in the one day the walk will be ok its only a pain when you have 3 days drinking done and its your 3rd trip to the car.

That was a metaphor intended to depict people who aren't open-minded.

But I suppose your mind had too narrow a focus to see that angle.
