I've a day off so I'll be going I'd say.
Bit of a nightmare round trip in one day though...
Any chance of number for a bus???
Is there going to be any Cork support at all at this match?? Was thinking of heading from Dumpland myself, but getting back is going to be a problem!!

I suppose I'll probably go alright.
I wonder, if Longford get knocked out of the cup this weekend, would there be any hope that it would be moved to the next cup weekend when both teams are free to play? Fingers crossed!
Champions!
not to wish Longford an early exit, i actually hope they progress, but if they were to lose out i hope the clubs could come to an agreement about playing on a cup weekend.
it'd make financial sense for longford, they're bound to get more at home on a friday night, and there would definitely be a bigger away support.
They actually play on saturday nights, so a lot of City fans would go up for the weekend.Originally posted by tiktok

I'll definitely be going, but i'll be back in limerick at that stage. Far as I know my car is (provisionally!) full for the trip.
Shove your fcuking arrangements up your arse!!Originally posted by tiktok

If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
But all you boggers will be still milking the cows at that time in the morning how do you expect to have any home support?Originally posted by Macy

Have Boot Disk, will travel
It actually suits the home fans better - we're following Dolo's lead by joining in the playing of screw the away fans....

This is what starts to happen when clubs forget about the fans.
macy & xlex i agree with you, let us all cry because a fixture does not suit the wanna be capital.
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
Probably be down leeside for the weekend before so probably make a detour for Longford mon the way back to dumpland.Originally posted by leesider

The longford contributors on this thread seem a bit irate.
I might be missing something but City play all our home games on Friday night so why would you make away trip arrangements for another night?
Clarification would be welcome if I'm wrong.
BTW From personal experience a trip to Longford for an away game is to be highly recommended.
Nice people, plenty of decent pubs.
paudie, the way cork treated drogs left a bad taste is the mouths of a lot of el supporters, have a look around various threads and you'll see what i mean, no club will ever do cork a favour again.

The story is this Paudie...
Cork and Town had agreements with regard to kick off times and days of matches.
Town fans make arrangements for the trip based on the agreed kick off days.
Rules changed so that Cork can pick whatever day they want, two weeks before the game is to take place.
Cork change the dates tearing up the agreement
Many Town fans unable to make the game on a Friday, not taking into account hotel bookings made, and are p!ssed off.
Cork operated within the rules, but not honourably IMO, acting without regard for the previous cooperation between the clubs and without consideration to the travelling fans.
Cork fans use the excuse that Shels and Pats (despite Monday being their "day" for midweek games) messed them about, so they are within their rights to do it to a totally unrelated club.
Cork do exactly the same thing to Drogs a few weeks later....

i think we should play the game at 7.30 am, just to really get up corks nose, barcalona played a game at 12.05 am to suit themselves so why can't we do it.

We'll get over it because you'd surely do your own club more harm than anyone elses.
The real jokers in this league are Drogheda and Derry who play on Thursdays. We're entitled to play all our home games on Fridays. That way we can get a bit of consistency in the league.

from what i remember of the city V town fixture change, it happened before the rule change so longford had to agree to it. city wanted the game brought back to friday night because they had to travel to inchicore on the monday for the league cup semi-final, even though they had originally been told the s-f would be on either tuesday or wednesday.
as for the drogs match, i've said it before and i'll say it again: afaik no one on here knows what 'agreement' the two clubs had/didn't have so everything posted here is hearsay. and from what i've heard elsewhere city did not break any agreement with drogs over the match (again, more hearsay i suppose)
