the problem with football worldwide now is that there are too few men left. garto is a man playing a man's game like a man.
he is the epitimy of courage and determination to win. he may not be a great passer of the ball but he has a real Thou Shall Not Pass attitude that drogs fans love and that Ireland fans would love if he ever got the call.
just coz he made a high profile error in the Cl game doesnt mean he is prone to them. he also made damn sure he made up for it with 2 goals in Europe.

    He's big, he's hard
    he'll take a yellow card
    Graham Gartland, Graham Gartland

Only a matter of time before we see him instead of muppets like Nancy O Brien, Doherty, Bruce and others who player at a lower level and have no european experience and no medals

since when are robust tackles out of order .....do you not remember keane on overmars????

Brian Murphy is the only EL player near a call up to a 23 man squad. The rest simply aren't at the required standard at the moment and won't be unless the standard of coaching in the country improves.

The standard of coaching in the league isn't the problem. Its far more deep rooted than that. I agree no one is sufficient standard though

stay off the drugs son. there is not one player in LOI better than alex bruce or liam miller. and as for john o'shea?!?!?! come off it, he's underrated by morons who follow the irish football team. he'd walk into any team outside the top 4 in the premiership.

I agree with that actually, well certainly their best defender. I'd rate Shelly very highly.

Maybe most but I'd challenge you to name any of Murphy's. I can remember him making at most three mistakes in his time with us and I'd be surprised if he was still in the loi this time next year.

Brain Murphy's a fabulous keeper, and amongst the best I've seen in this country. He was, however, released by Swansea in League one.

Barry Murphy made at least 3 errors in this game alone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPjD93Qmq9o

Theres no doubt he's a filthy player but sometimes thats a good characteristic within a centre half, in fact the Argentines insist on it.

Brian Murphy must be wondering what he has to do for a call up. Another howler from an Irish keeper.

The LOI players will do no worse than some of the lads currently on. Im not saying the LOI are great but the players on are not great either. Not a hope of reaching South Africa, they should concentrate in putting a squad together for the Euros in 4 years

Now that Dave Mooney has completed his move "across the water", expect a call up in 2 weeks.

If he signed yesterday he would have been flown over to Norway straight away
