I always support the North, except when we're playing them off course and wouldn't mind going to this game.

Reckon we should bring a load of flags and and give them a great support, would really take the **** out of the bigots and probably be appreciated by the VAST MAJORITY of Northern Irish people.

And not looking for a row - for me We're all Irish and if we're not then they are our closest neighbours.

The train to Wuppertal is €150. I can rent a car for €50-€60 for the day. I fly into Frankfurt airport (main one - Aer Lingus flight) on Friday morning.

I plan on renting a car and driving to Wuppertal and back to Frankfurt airport that night after the game - return the car and get the train back to my city centre hotel.

If anybody fancies a lift and will share some of the cost let me know by pm.

The only fair way of doing it.

If there was 1000 originally travelling I suppose there should be a good chance of the rest of us getting tickets.

Doubt that all 9,000 other tickets will be sold to the georgian fan base in mainz.
I think they are selling more tickets outside the stadium on match day.
But this has yet to be confirmed by the FAI.

Well I was going to Tbilisi via Vienna with Austrian Airways, and they basically told me to sod off. They're still flying to Tbilisi so as far as they are concerned, so am I. Because I went for the cheapest ticket, it was totally non-refundable. So unless the situation in Georgia esculates again and Austrian Airways have to cancel flights, that's £500 down the drain. I'm not optimistic that will happen. Besides, it's just wrong to hope people die so I can get my money back.

I got a full refund about 2 weeks ago through e-mail, and there was no bother, but that was from Tbilisi - Dubrovnik (via. Vienna), so maybe you should keep at them until they give in.

This NI fan certainly appreciates the sentiment, esp since it won't take many* of you to outnumber our support! (We're hoping/expecting to take around 1,600 to Slovakia for the senior game the next day)

sorry to hear it, kind of assumed all the scheduled carriers paid up eventually, even if they offered you a credit note it would be something. what are the austrian advice to their citizens traveling to Tbilisi is there no force majeure option with them/your insurance company

Tell them that you are willing to travel, but your insurance company have told you your cover will be invalidated for flying to a warzone and ask them to provide you with life insurance before you travel, this may help.

Also talk to thier Dublin or UK office depending on where you bought ticket and point of departure, they may have a different attitude.

Czech Airlines were having none of it when I rang them, but eventually they told me to ring the Dublin office. The Dublin office offered a full refund no questions asked.

newry rep, we were with air baltic and didn't get affected by the schedule change, i emailed them several times including your piece, and finally it worked, they weren't too pleased when another fan copied my email asking for a refund too They said it was the last refund they were doing
We got Riga - Tbilisi return refunded in full. Those booked with Austrian airlines not refunding keep at them, use the govt advice + invalid insurance quote.

I bought the flights from the Austrian Airlines website. When I emailed them asking to cancel, they replied "As Austrian Airlines is still operating flight to Tiblisi, no goodwill will be offered in case of cancellation. The booked fare conditions will apply." The only number I have for them is in Austria. Might have to resort to that.
