And here was me going to post a piece about the front of the Sgt Peppars album. doh!
I'm not particularly a fan of the Beatles as a band, but there are a few great tracks they have that have had some great covers.
Some of my favourites are
Siouxsie & The Banshees - Dear Prudence
Laibach - Across the Universe
Just shading it over Bowie's version
William Shatner - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Just because...
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

I was thinking along the lines of Magic (but more towards Abbey Road).
Otherwise:
Carpenters - Ticket to Ride.
Ceci n'est pas une signature
Norwegian Wood - Cornershop
Ticket To Ride - Hüsker Dü
Daytripper - Beethoven
They say what about the meek?
I say theyve got a bloody cheek
I am the Walrus - Oasis
Wild Honey Pie - The Pixies
Norwegian Wood - Damien Dempsey
Quoting years at random since 1975
The Breeders did 'Happiness is a warm gun' , but this isn't necessarily a favourite, just a Beatles cover I have.
Laibach, as mentioned by Bluebeard, of course went one step further and covered a complete album, Let it be. Well, it was almost a complete album. They left out the title track.

Bowie's version of Across The Universe.
Geroge Clinton did an interesting cover of Because.

The Mission - Tomorrow Never Knows
The Waterboys - Why Don't We Do It In The Road
Husker Du - Ticket To Ride
U2 - Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Of stuff not mentioned above, there's a whole album's worth of covers on the I Am Sam soundtrack too, though disappointingly I've only heard Eddie Vedder's "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" and Aimee Mann and Michael Penn's "Two Of Us", which are both decent, but largely on account of the excellence of the originals I feel. Then for novelty's sake you have Gershon Kingsley with the electro-fied "Nowhere Man" and "Paperback Writer", which as I say are merely of novelty value.
So on the basis that I don't really like the original (i.e. I actually prefer the cover), I'll follow Noby's lead and vote for the blissful "Ticket To Ride" by The Carpenters. Amazingly dulcet.![]()
I'm going to plump for Beatallicas I Wanna Choke Your Band
...and if that doesn't float your boat while your on youtube try
