You couldnt have watched him play for Bolton too much in the last couple of years if u think the jury is still out on him,he is an excellent signing for 2.5 mil. Keane made some massive mistakes last year in transfer market but since last January his activity in the market has been excellent
    Its really not that complicated!!!

One word: Cantona. From reading the autobiography, it's clear that Keane idolised the man, and admired Ferguson's courage in bringing such a controversial, but talented character to the club. Despite his 'eccentricity', propensity for on-pitch violence and habit of falling out with national managers (sound familiar?), Cantona turned out to be Ferguson's greatest master-stroke. Keane's obviously trying to take a leaf from the same book.

One aspect of the game which Keane always praised Ferguson for (and castigated McCarthy for) was man-management. This is a big challenge for Keane, bringing in Diouf - but it could be inspired.

Same old story; if you're a fan of Keane, you can see a valid reason behind what he's doing. If not, everything he does is questionable. Amazing how he still evokes this kind of polarisation. Yes, he's signed a lot of Irish players and ex-colleagues. And some have turned out to be duds. However, every manager does it - Benitez is a prime example. A manager will always try to sign players who can understand and fit into his mindset, and nationality is a factor. Most of Wenger's early signings were French. Even Ferguson raided Scotland for some players in his early days; Strachan, Leighton, McClair. I'm happy to see Keane giving players like Reid, Miller, McShane, Murphy, O'Donovan, Stokes and Meyler a chance that they would not ordinarily have had.

His signing of Colgan is not a big issue, imo. He needed a cheap third keeper. Colgan was willing and available for the thankless, but necessary job. It's a bit like Ferguson signing Andy Goram a few years ago. Except Colgan's not a ****.

Should this not be in World Football as the topic soon went away from Colgan who is average at best?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
