So is the "crisis" over now?![]()
Did ye read the statement?
This in not news. Sponsorship has not concluded yet & negotiations for renewal are common for all contracts! At the fans forums the FAI said they has numerous commercial options id eircom leave or don't pay what they think the league is worth as they use expertise of FAI commercial department.24/07/2008 - 11:50:48
Eircom have denied that they are about to end their sponsorship of the eircom League.
In a statement just issued they have stated that: "The current contract is due to expire at the end of 2008.
"Eircom is currently in discussions with the FAI regarding sponsorship of Irish soccer. These discussions are ongoing, and eircom will not comment on specific aspects until the negotiations have concluded."
Eircom have sponsored the Irish national soccer team since 200 and began backing the domestic league soon after that.
Eircom have done very little to promote a league which includes the name of their company. I would prefer a sponsor that links in better with live sports.
bloody all the league needs right now, as someone said setanta may look to get in on it seeing as there already involved showing games and setanta cup.
I wonder did they get their gaudy massive feckin logo embroidered on every tunic, cloak and pelt back then as well. Who the hell negotiated the length of that deal? ...did they even take the time to read the velum parchment it was inscribed upon?Eircom have sponsored the Irish national soccer team since 200 and began backing the domestic league soon after that.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
One O Clock News on RTE ran with story saying they were pulling out.
wonder have the FAI been in talks with anyone else ??? im sure eircom have informed them some time ago before they went public.
Setanta have ruined Blue Square, moving games to mid-week and fans having to travel crazy distances
RIP JOHNNY
wow mate can't believe youare so blinkered on this,
What we need Gavin and to do this as a league is to act now to make it is possible to try to protect against a fire therefore there being no need to wait for smoke to appear first. The FAI need to be proactive on this major issue.
