When you think about it!!!!
Refs get €48 per game at Junior level (correct??)
At the start of the season when midweek games are being played, refs do a Tuesday evening game, a Thursday evening game, a Saturday evening game and at least one game on a Sunday (if not 2 games on a Sunday).
So all in all (when midweek games are being played) a ref could earn up to as much as €240 for 5 games in a week (tax free).
The downside of that is once midweek games are over the most they'll have is 2 games a week.
Any update on what punishment will be handed down to Pallas after the Charleville game? From the 1A thread it looks serious?
its €48 for premier games within 15km(i think) of jackman park and €42 for the rest within same distance after that cost varies depending on travel.
To be honest with you mate i'm not in it for the money i can make more teaching golf for half an hour than refereein a game for two hours including travelling.
i just enjoy it , broke my wrist year and half ago in a freindly against coonagh was in goals... put me out of golf for 6 months .. wanted to stay in soccer but couldn't risk breaking wrist again so took up refereeing.
As i said i would recommend it to everyone who wants to stay in soccer after playing career

Ah so you are the guy that lives in the castle is it![]()
They don't have a bad team out there and it will be difficult enough to get a result out there..One or 2 more players and they would be very strong..
As for the refs situation,Godd on you for taking it up...A lot more people that have been involved in soccer should take it up as well.I mean how many hundreds if not thousands of people have played juniorr soccer throughout the years....I know a few refs do the refereeing to pay for there cars and holiday homes and a few do it to play for there holidays each year which is and incentive as well in itself. Can you play junior soccer and ref and the same time?

"TheLastBoyScout" you should read the 1A thread, sounds like pretty crazy goings on. Wasn't at the game so can't really comment myself.
Just read the thread on 1A league regarding Pallas. To be honest Im not surprised with these sort of actions from Pallas, we played them last year in 2B and we felt that all they wanted to do was cause trouble instead of playing ball. Hopefully the LDMC will act on them this year and cut out thier antics...as I feel that they would'nt be missed by many
