Speaking of watergrasshill, only 8 of them turned up against our senior team thursday, 8 to be correct, they lost 4-1 game called off after 55 mins.

Thumbs down Nothin new from Norrieland

Well lets start off with the important stuff congrats to Ballyvolane on reaching the final of the Mossie.Best of luck.

We have no body else to blame but ourselves but that seems to be the story of our season dosent it.At the start of the season I stated that I wasnt too worried that we had lost Jp an Danny because as a team we had the majority of attackin an creative players still at the club an I felt we would still create enough chances against teams. Also I felt that again as a team we had players all over the pitch who could wade in with their fair share of goals. But though I may go by the name Littleman im a big enough to admit I got it wrong,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

we could an should have had this game over an done with in the first half an I dont think Ballyvolane would have had any complaints. We've all been their in games like this, dominating play 1 up an creating chances but you dont kill teams off an what happens they equalise. An experienced players will tell ya an 1 nil lead no matter how dominant you are is nothin,,,,,,,,,,,

to be very honest an it hurts for me to say this but as soon as Ballyvolane equalised I had this gut renching feelin that we would crumble an we did.I have won an awful lot over the years an lost a fair share too, experience tells me that every time you reach the semis of any competition you have to grab the oppertuinity with all the energy an commitment you have, dig deep an run till you can run no more,an give everythin till you cant do no more for the fella in front of ya behind ya or by your side,I did that along the way an I won things with the players in my teams that did the same also .Thats why I value the things I won an even some of the ones I lost with those players along the way but from what I saw Sunday me an the people I played with are a dying breed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,all thats spurs people on now is the promise of a shower a flat pitch an a tracksuit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Bog / Shilts .

We are looking forward to welcoming ye tommorow night for our last game of the season. Obviously ye are treating every game as a cup final at the moment because lets face it thats what it is. If ye drop points at any stage now it will f*** things up for ye.

I could come on here and say we will only be going through the motions and seeing the season out for what it's worth. But I wont.. We have played ye three times this season having no joy and frankly the defeat in the Mossie was heartbreaking.. I think we're due a result ..

The weather is supposed to be good and hopefully that will bring out a big crowd ( which has been lacking up our way recently ) .

All and all regardless of the result and sometimes controversy when we play big games in the Glebe We will shake hands at the final whistle and then wonder what in the name of God will we do for the next 3 months ..

We always expect a tough game home or away against Coachford and we always get it - not a lot between us so far this season and hopefully the rub of the green will go our way tonight - but have to agree with the last comment about shaking hands after whatever the result

I have to say I was a bit dissapointed to hear Grattan lost at the weekend - I was afraid that if they went out of the Mossie that they wouldn't try a leg v Wilton tonight - Prove me wrong please littleman!!!

That said Grattan have always given their best in the past and on their day have the ability to beat anybody in the country, so if I had to pick a team in the league who wouldn't lie down to Wilton I'd pick Grattan. C'mon the Gratts!!!

Well done to all who won their respective leagues.Only 2 divisions left to be decided.Division 1 and the Premier.
Getting very interesting at the moment with Wilton and Kinsale. Both have tough games left.Nice to see we have climbed to 3rd in Premier and we have put a good run together in Division 1.
Both teams had good wins at the weekend.Premier team went to Leeside with 13 players and came away with a great 3-1 win.
First division team went to Glenthorn with 11 players and came away with 4-2 victory. Our manager had to step in between the posts when our right back got injured......Huge struggle to get a full squad at the end of the season.
Looking forward to next weekend.Last game of the season for Second team and a mouth watering clash against Kinsale on Sunday for first team.

    Park Boy

And the funny thing is Parkboy I thought ye're manager was a better keeper than the fella who started in goal - he could still do a job there for a team in my opinion

Actually on that comment I must say our Div 1 has really come down to the wire... Richmond host Pearce tonight, a win for Pearce puts them top by 1 point from Greenmount with a game to go (against us!!!) a win for Richmond puts them 1 point behind Greenmount with 1 game left against, guess who, Greenmount

No Cas its not a swipe at any one in general more of how I think the game has changed.I would just expect people an thats everybody ,to be man enough to admit that everybody has to shoulder the blame for a poor season an be man enough to want to make it right the followin season.

    Pearse 2 Richmond 2.

What does that mean to the outcome of Div 1 Innish?

I called down to watch plus a quick peek at the Cork City Youths v Ballincollig as well.
Interesting game Pearce looked the better side in 1st half scored a very soft early goal. Went 2 up. Conceded direct from a free kick, then - squeaky bum time, Pearce were pushed back very deep, Richmond threw the kitchen sink at them, had chance after chance, but a combination of good defending and a seriously bumpy pitch meant it was not until the last minute that they forced an equalizer...

    Talk about complicated...
    I'll start with the easy...
    1. If Greenmount win against Richmond on Sat - Greenmount win league
    2. If it is a draw - A win for Pearce on Sunday against us will give Pearce the title
    3. If Richmond win - Any result other than a Pearce win will result in a play-off for the title, with Richmond and Greenmount plus if we drew with Pearce all 3 would be on same points.

To add another twist, we play UCC tomorrow, have to win but if we do then a win against Pearce will see us stay up... A tough ask, but we'll just wait and see.

We have a very hard game away to Park on sunday morning 1st. We need at least a point there to stay alive for the Wilton game on tuesday. (We are now 4pts behind with a game in hand)

Wilton get a weeks rest instead of playing their 2nd last game at the weekend like us. Small things like this bug me a lot.

Very lucky to win last night. 0-0 at half time. We went 1 up from a pen and they equalised from a 50/50 pen (generous to the ref) for handball and the player was then red carded for a 2nd yellow. 1-1 20 mins left and down to 10 men. We had to dig deep and were the only team trying to win it. Richie Holland scored the winner. His sub was ready to go on for him when the ball went out of play...it did when he lashed it into the net
    Phew!!!

    Roll on sunday!!!

Season Review - Just about stayed in the first division after a reasonable start - lost too many players in January to expect anything more than survival !

    Coachford 1 - 2 Kinsale

If these guys win the league they certainly will have done it the hard way.

Last nights game was a cracker . We had five youths playing , Two of them only 16 and they were excellent which was great to see.
Two penalties excellently dispatched and ( I'll have to correct you Shilts )Your second got a deflection on the way in ( off Varian perhaps ) I reckon it would have been saved only for this important touch. But there the joys.

Well done again and best of luck for the rest of the season

Well done last night Olachico-that result see our neighbours Glanworth go down.
Yeah last Sundays team was totally different than the team that beat us 4-0 at the start of the season.
On the matter of our Manager in goal, only for a bad knee he would still be playing. In his early years he was Parks first choice keeper for 10-12 seasons. Also played in goal for limerick Minor,U21 and junior level.

Of course... it would have to have been a deflection to beat your keeper junglegym I was too far away to see the deflection!
Thanks for the good wishes and hope to see you again next season! Don't be doing anything stoopid like retiring!!!
